A gentleman can be deceived by means of what is proper. Or rather, a gentleman can be taken advantage of through his own principles. As one of the supreme combatants in the world of Hogwarts—and quite possibly the most powerful of all—Headmaster Dumbledore was someone whom no one could force to do anything against his will, should he choose not to. Yet, Dumbledore was not the sort of overbearing brute who relied solely on intimidation and refused to reason with others. Despite wielding such immense power, he was still willing to abide by the rules of the wizarding world and strictly uphold his own moral compass. Without a doubt, such a man was a good person. At the same time, however, he was someone who had stepped down from the pedestal, voluntarily relinquishing his halo of invincibility. Such a person was undoubtedly a fool in the eyes of others, or rather, the absolute favorite kind of person for his enemies, because a man like that could be manipulated through his own righteousness.
