Residential properties in the local area can be broadly categorized into public housing and private estates. Public housing estates are built by the Housing Authority. Whether you are purchasing or renting, you must undergo a household income review. These are primarily intended to assist low-income individuals. Broadly speaking, they are all referred to as public housing estates. More specifically, those purchased are called Home Ownership Scheme flats, while those rented are called public rental housing. Private estates, on the other hand, are straightforward: they are built with funds from private individuals or corporations. As long as they are willing to sell and you have the money to buy, the transaction can proceed without any income review by the relevant authorities.
