Calmed by the persuasion of the two Sages, Zhenyuanzi cast a cold, hard glare at Minghe, Taiyi, and Kunpeng. He then put away the Book of Earth, bowed to the three Sages, and departed in silence, taking the ninety-nine scattered soul gourd with him.
With Zhenyuanzi gone, Minghe had no reason to stay. After all, he had failed to seize the Grand Purple Qi and had managed to provoke a lunatic into the bargain. While he was not afraid of Zhenyuanzi, the man was bound to be a nuisance. With a parting cupped-fist salute to the three Sages, Minghe vanished as well.
Seeing Minghe leave, Taiyi let out a cold snort of disgust and summoned Kunpeng to return with him to the Heavenly Court.
