High above the west side of Hogwarts, in the owl tower, came the sound of flapping feathers and frightened hoots.
"Don't be in such a rush, I'm not going to eat you." Iblis grabbed one of the owls by the leg with one hand while skillfully steadying its wings with the other. "Hedwig, we're old acquaintances, after all. You and your master Harry are so close to me, what's a little favor between friends, right?"
Pinned tightly by the young witch, Hedwig gave her successfully escaped peers a look of utter despair, then turned its head and nodded helplessly at Iblis, who was blinking innocently back at it.
