Voldemort's face turned ashen, rage and resentment flashing in his eyes. He never expected Ith to expose his deepest wounds and humiliation in such a casual and dismissive manner. The other Death Eaters exchanged bewildered glances, unsure how to handle this sudden turn of events. Yet Ith seemed entirely indifferent to Voldemort's reaction. He shrugged lightly, a playful smile playing at the corners of his mouth as if to say, "Look, this is the truth you've all been chasing—it really isn't much." No sooner had Ith finished speaking than a dazzling charm shot like lightning straight toward his face. Voldemort could no longer restrain his inner fury and jealousy; he could not accept having his past failure exposed so publicly, nor could he tolerate anyone speaking of his humiliation with such contempt right in front of his Death Eaters. At that moment, he cast aside any notion of a pact or a deal, the anger within him burning to a peak and driving him to attack without hesitation.
