In the dim room, Snape leaned against the sofa, as still as if he were asleep. The girl sitting at the table crossed her arms and stared intently at the man, motionless. "Staring at me like that won't make you write any faster." Snape kept his eyes closed, but his tone rose slightly. Silence fell once more. The gaze directed at him vanished, but Snape heard no sound of a quill scratching against parchment. He waited patiently for the girl to admit defeat, but after a long while, the only sound that reached him was the rhythm of steady breathing.
