"When did you get back? You went to find that kid Salazar first, and you still haven't come to see..." Iblis pushed open the door, intending to utter a few words of complaint, but stopped short when she saw Merlin's condition.
Merlin's wizard's robes were soaked with vast patches of blood, and the raw bullet-sized holes on his exposed shoulder had already scabbed over. He leaned against the bed, deathly pale, as a green radiance drifted from his Wand, tending to his wounds. Catching sight of Iblis, he forced a smile. "Don't tell Salazar. To keep him from finding out, I deliberately cast a Transfiguration charm just now to conceal the blood and injuries."
"What happened?" Iblis walked up to Merlin, her gaze fixing on the man's chest hidden beneath his wizard's robes, her expression sinking completely. Noticing the girl's intent look, Merlin pulled his clothes tighter around himself. "I let my guard down. We were ambushed on the way back with Cadogan and the others... My magic is more than enough to clear this up. It's fine."
