Over the past two months, Elodie had felt utterly helpless. With Christmas fast approaching, she was now past her third month, and things had stabilized. Her friends, however, seemed to feel differently, treating her as if she were a fragile, easily shattered doll.
Even Sirius’s birthday passed without any of their usual rowdiness—not a single drop of alcohol was served. When they went out, someone cleared the path ahead, someone blocked from behind, and others flanked her on both sides. She walked right in the middle, with Lily and Elodie holding her hands on either left and right.
She was the youngest of them all. Although everyone else was the same age except for Sirius and Tyres, Elodie was born in May, making her the youngest. Now, she was going to be a mother. None of them had any experience; this was a completely new territory for every single one of them.
