Before going to Antarctica to see the aurora borealis, Gloria proposed a new destination: a vast, boundless grassland. She had always loved such free and open places, and besides, the boys could not be allowed to forget the tent-pitching skills they had worked so hard to learn.
They could learn to ride horses—not as beautiful as unicorns, perhaps, but fun and fast. In truth, however, Gloria and the boys clearly had other purposes in mind. The pasture here was expansive, and because it bordered a jungle, it possessed a certain degree of wild danger, with the grazing flocks vulnerable to prowling wolf packs.
Howling could often be heard at night. The jungle was the best hiding place for the wolves, and naturally, it could be the same for a werewolf. It could serve as a hiding spot for Remus to weather the upcoming full moon.
