Lois stood alone on the high tower, looking out at the lake. A giant squid swam past, creating ripples on the water's surface. Speaking of which, Godric Gryffindor had once actually gotten into a fight with that giant squid.
A smile touched the corners of her lips. The hot-headed founder had been tripped into the lake by one of the squid's tentacles, and Salazar had stood there laughing at him, which made Godric so furious that he splashed a huge wave of water right back at him.
Hogwarts was fast approaching a thousand years of history now, too. She still remembered what those four young people had looked like, full of life and vigor, when Hogwarts was first established.
