The exposure of Delilah's true colors and her subsequent departure seemed to cause barely a ripple at Hogwarts, but upon closer inspection, it became clear that Potter and his friends had grown strangely quiet. The Marauders had gone from a foursome to a trio, and it was painfully obvious that the remaining three could no longer recover the dynamic they once shared. At the dining table, seeing Peter's guilt-ridden gaze once again, Potter said to Sirius with a somewhat strange expression in his eyes: "Maybe it was just a misunderstanding, Sirius. How could Peter possibly have the guts to deceive us? He has always acted like such a coward."
