The final flying class of May took place, and June would bring the examination week. During flying class, Madam Hooch reminded them once more of the Quidditch team tryout schedule for the next term before dismissing the students to practice on their own, even though everyone had long been familiar with the dates and procedures. Flying class was a joint session for Gryffindor and Slytherin. Severus hated flying classes, loathed Gryffindor even more, and utterly despised Potter during flying lessons. Looking at that flamboyant display, Potter resembled a showy peacock that only knew how to flaunt its gaudy feathers—though calling him a peacock was an insult to peacocks. Still, Severus genuinely detested how effortless and reckless Potter looked atop a broomstick.
