When Barty Jr. spun the necklace, Vespera Quinlan felt the world come to a standstill before her eyes. Time was no longer a linear flow, but had turned into a tangible mist she could feel. The space around her body began to distort, as if she were trapped inside a constantly rotating, stretching, and compressing kaleidoscope. Colors and light blurred into a mottled haze, and her breathing grew deep and slow. Every inhalation felt like drawing in air from a different era, while every exhalation felt like gently leaving her present self right where she was. She experienced an intense sensation of weightlessness, as though an invisible force were pulling her through an endless void. Time and space around her blurred together, the past, present, and future intertwining into bizarre and surreal imagery. The world was like a mirror made of glass; when Vespera's thoughts locked into place, the glass shattered with a sharp crack. Vespera cautiously looked around her.
