Four people pushed their luggage carts straight through the solid barrier, plunged into sudden darkness, and then emerged into the dim, yellow glow of the station. The platform was packed with people and choked with space, the heavy, pungent stench of diesel and exhaust fumes thick in the air. The harsh, unpleasant odor instantly dissipated much of their initial excitement. Wenxiu Lord, in particular, was prone to carsickness. The sudden wave of fumes struck his physical reflexes head-on. Instinctively pinching his nose, he knitted his brows tightly together, his stomach churning violently within moments.
