Adeline wore a vicious expression.
Her father and brother had sacrificed themselves for the Alpha Empire. As a war orphan, she was the only one raised in the royal palace since childhood.
In her view, among so many orphans, she alone was singled out for special treatment, which was enough to prove her uniqueness.
Her father and brother had traded their lives for the chance for her to get close to the King, and she was only a single step away from becoming the Queen.
Yet the King turned a blind eye to her love.
She hated everyone who could get close to the King.
Even a pet!
Adeline let out a cold sneer. "Not a single pet has ever survived by the King's side for a day and a night."
Hearing this term again, Yuxing found it hard to ignore. "The King?"
Adeline snapped a correction, "Human, you should address the King as Master!"
Yuxing's head was full of exclamation points.
What? The master she had carefully selected was a tyrant?
This is so entertaining!!
The original owner had never met the tyrant, but knew him all too well.
The Alpha King—Ornodo, who ascended the throne thirteen years ago, using slaughter to stop slaughter, stabilizing the crumbling Alpha Empire.
Adeline smiled maliciously and cursed in a low voice, "You are destined to die a miserable death."
Yuxing was speechless. "Do you know what kind of behavior this is? Pure soda ash that generates carbon dioxide with just two drops of vinegar."
Adeline frowned. "What?"
She didn't understand.
But that didn't stop her from targeting the human in front of her.
"Damn human!"
"You're nothing more than a substandard pet. Just because the King has given you a few pleasant looks, do you think you're special?"
"What's there to be smug about!"
"A lowly human like you is a dime a dozen across the entire Alpha Galaxy. Do you really think the King treasures you?"
"Countless humans have died at the King's hands. What makes you think you're an exception?"
Yuxing: →_→
Just pure verbal abuse?
Can I put up with this?
Yuxing launched her counterattack in zero frames flat.
"Are you a dandelion? The moment the wind blows, you start putting on a performance for yourself."
Realizing she couldn't win the argument, Adeline flashed forward two steps in one, grabbed that slender neck, and closed her five fingers.
The feeling of suffocation grew heavier and heavier.
Yuxing only felt it becoming difficult to breathe.
"..."
Can't win an argument, so resort to violence?
How utterly devoid of sportsmanship!
Adeline let go of her, forcefully shoved a pitch-black dagger into her hands, and with a vicious expression on her face, kicked her into the water.
"You unclean human, with my status, even if I accidentally and mistakenly kill a thieving burglar, it's just that burglar's bad luck."
Yuxing: "..."
What a huge, unjust blame to take!
Falling into the water,
Yuxing did not struggle desperately.
She held her breath and tried hard to save herself. Gradually, she discovered that the water here was different from the water on Blue Star.
No matter how hard she swam upward,
her body still sank downward.
Was she doomed again?
In despair, Yuxing saw a strange black shadow swimming toward her.
In the blink of an eye.
Two tentacles tightly wrapped around her waist, their roughness and danger sweeping over her through the fabric.
Who is so immoral to keep a monster in the water?
Before long.
A figure broke through the surface of the water.
The smug look on Adeline's face was instantly replaced by terror as she saw the human who should have been drowned nestled in the King's arms.
Pool water dripped from Ornado's jawline onto Yuxing's face. Yuxing lifted her eyelids to find that the monster had turned into the tyrant.
The tyrant circled her waist with one arm, his other hand scooping from beneath her knees, effortlessly lifting her up.
He had saved her life.
What a great alien!
He didn't look like a tyrant at all!
Ornodo stood against the light, his features hidden in the shadows so that one could not clearly see his expression, leaving only a heavy sense of oppression spreading all around.
Adeline's lips turned pale, and her body trembled uncontrollably.
A strong sense of danger swept over her like a tsunami, overwhelming her already taut nerves and chilling her to the bone.
Adeline instinctively dropped to her knees.
"Your Majesty, she stole your dagger! I was only giving her a minor punishment!"
Adeline kept her head down, not daring to look at the King's expression. She had touched the King's reverse scale and presumptuously tampered with the King's personal belongings.
She accepted her punishment.
Yet deep down, she felt completely fearless.
She was different; she had grown up alongside the King. The King would never hurt her for the sake of a lowly pet.
The next second.
The smile at the corner of Adeline's mouth froze.
A chilling flash of cold light swept past.
Deep red blood splattered across the ground.
Before dying, Adeline saw her own body still kneeling on the ground while her head fell off and rolled several times.
Ornodo gripped his pet's waist, his voice gentle. "Are you scared?"
Yuxing blinked.
He was avenging her.
She was too happy to even have time for joy!
How could she possibly be scared?
There was no fear in the depths of the pet's eyes. Ornado was extremely satisfied, hugged the pet tighter, and flashed into the inner palace.
He kicked the door open with his foot and placed the pet on the table.
Ornodo took a deep look at the shocking finger marks on the pet's neck, raised a hand to brush aside her wet hair, and cupped his large palm over the back of her neck.
He pinned her in a posture of absolute control, forcing her gaze to meet his levelly.
"Do you know where you went wrong?"
Yuxing: "..."
She did have a fault.
Her only fault was having a face that looked too easy to bully!
Ornodo's tone remained unchanged. "Why didn't you call out to me for help?"
As he spoke.
Ornodo's palm gripped the pet's ankle.
He traced his way up from the ankle.
His thumb and fingertips pinched the soft calf muscle, leaving red marks on the delicate skin that could hardly take any rough treatment, as a punishment.
Yuxing humbly asked for instruction. "How do you call for help?"
Ornodo glanced sideways at the bell.
Yuxing understood in a second.
At the same time, she was speechless.
The bell has this function too?
Then you should have said so!
Yuxing was determined not to take this lying down. "You didn't give me the manual for the bell, so I didn't know how to use it."
"..."
Ornodo fell silent.
In Yuxing's eyes, this scene meant he was in the wrong.
Ornodo secretly decided to keep the pet by his side at all times in the future. When he leaned down over her, the pet instinctively raised her hand to press against his chest.
What was she blocking?
How was he supposed to study mental power soothing if she blocked him?
Feeling the atmosphere growing tense again, Yuxing hurriedly spoke up. "I'm going to take a hot shower, or I'll catch a cold."
Only then did Ornado remember that humans were generally frail and sickly, and had to be carefully cared for without easily catching a chill.
Considering that the pet had fallen into the water due to his own negligence, it was necessary for him to make his attitude clear for the benefit of certain individuals with impure motives.
Ornodo smiled gently and leisurely rolled up his sleeves, revealing the firm, robust muscles on his arms and the tattoo-like dark patterns.
"I'll help you wash."
Yuxing was terrified out of her wits. "Ah!?"
Ornodo's movement of taking off his gloves paused. Sensing the pet's resistance once more, he frowned in incomprehension.
"Why are you hiding from me?"
Yuxing darted into the bathroom in a flash.
If she didn't hide, would her purity still be intact?
Yuxing locked the troublemaker outside, leaned her back against the door for two seconds, and the flush on her earlobes slowly faded away.
After finishing her shower.
Yuxing belatedly realized she had forgotten to take a change of clothes. Wrapped in a bath towel, she stood awkwardly inside the door and whispered in a low voice.
"Could you help me get a new set of clothes?"
The next second.
A low, muffled chuckle pierced through the crack of the door right beside Yuxing's ear, making her earlobes turn bright red all over again.
The laughter gradually faded.
Footsteps drew closer and closer.
Something was hung on the doorknob.
Yuxing waited a few seconds before opening the door.
Ornodo leaned lazily against the back of his chair, opened his optical computer, logged onto StarNet, and searched for why a pet wouldn't let itself be touched.
He casually raised his head and happened to catch sight of a pinkish arm extending out from the narrow crack of the door.
Water droplets were still clinging to it, about to fall off.
Instantly, he recalled the scene of pulling her out of the water, the chilling seawater stranded in the hollow of her collarbone.
Stranded right along with it was his gaze.
Perhaps sensing his gaze, the pet abruptly pulled her arm back, and the sound of rustling clothes being put on echoed from inside the room.
Ornodo realized his own abnormal behavior, but couldn't analyze why, so he had no choice but to send a private message to ask his experienced Admiral.
