Although the area is planted with wheat, the quality is poor. It is sparse, and there are far more weeds than wheat—a true case of "lush grass and meager sprouts." It is no wonder these people never have enough food; with this kind of planting experience, they are simply wasting the land. I sent 5,000 men to dig trenches around the entire perimeter to prevent them from scattering and fleeing. I wasn't setting an ambush; the goal was primarily to train my troops and test my own strength.
