Chapter 10

"Lady Witch, aren't we there yet? We're about to leave the town!"
"The one in the black cloak ahead!"
Hearing this, Lord Administrator decisively reined in his horse and cast a spell at the person Lewan pointed out: "Slow!"
Fangsheng slowly reined in his horse. Hearing the Administrator use magic, he thought to himself that this person truly was not easy to deal with.
"Lord Administrator? I haven't broken the town rules, have I? Why are you casting magic on me?" A terrified voice came from beneath the cloak. Both of them were momentarily stunned, and then the Administrator reacted, stepping forward to yank the person's cloak off.
Fangsheng, standing on guard with his sword drawn, felt his eyelids twitch. The face beneath the hood was not the delicate youth from that night, but a thin, scrawny man.
The Administrator naturally recognized that this man was not the Cultist. He turned to Lewan and said with dissatisfaction, "Lady Witch! Your mistake has sent us on a wild goose chase!"
Lewan sat on her horse, withdrawing her consciousness from the crystal ball, and explained, "I made no mistake. He is the only person in the town carrying the aura of the Demons."
With a deep gaze, the Administrator turned back to the scrawny man, who was still under the influence of the Slow spell: "Who did you come into contact with yesterday? Did you run into a delicate-looking youth, about seventeen or eighteen years old?"
The scrawny man started, then recalled the events and quickly said, "Yes! He bumped into me yesterday and left."
"Just bumped into you?" the Administrator pressed.
The scrawny man nodded. Lewan, standing nearby, spoke up: "Do you remember why you came to the east side of the town?"
The man was taken aback by the question, then said matter-of-factly, "Of course I came to..." But halfway through his sentence, the man suddenly fell silent. Then, his eyes widening in bewilderment, he looked around and asked, "What did I come here to do? I..."
Seeing the man's expression, Lewan frowned and shouted, "Mount your horses! Quickly, to the west side of the town!"
The three of them quickly mounted their horses and galloped toward the west side of the town.
Along the way, Lewan clutched the Scripture to her chest and explained in a loud voice, "The Cultist knew yesterday that we were coming after him, so he controlled this man and made him carry the demonic aura to distract us."
Hearing Lewan's explanation, both men felt their hearts sink to the bottom. With things turning out this way, the difficulty of dealing with this Cultist had doubled.
Fangsheng shouted at the Administrator, "Mr. Administrator, please don't hold back later, otherwise we might all die here!"
The Administrator merely nodded without replying to Fangsheng, because his mood at the moment was extremely complicated. It was unlikely that Lord Nameless would be exposed, which meant that the one exposed would be himself instead.
Yet if it were indeed himself, then... could it be you...?
Soon, the three arrived at the west side of the town. What met their eyes was a thin figure with his back to them, surrounded by a crowd of people with dull, vacant eyes who had already been placed under control.
Hearing the commotion made by the three, the youth turned to face them and said calmly, "Ah, the Nameless One and his witch. I haven't even come looking for you yet, and you've delivered yourselves right to my doorstep."
The youth seemed as if he wanted to say something else; instead of attacking, he leisurely prepared to speak again. However, Lewan refused to give him that chance and shouted loudly, "Attack him now! He's just buying time to complete the Demon summoning array!"
Seeing his intention seen through, the youth let out a soft curse. "Tch, truly formidable, Witch. But what will you do now? Kill them!" As his voice fell, the vacant-eyed people under the youth's control instantly went wild and charged toward the three of them.
With a single sword slash, Fangsheng cut down an enemy who had lunged right in front of him, his eyelids twitching wildly as he looked at the frenzied crowd ahead.
Slaying another enemy with his sword, Fangsheng retreated a few steps and shouted at the two warlocks behind him, "You two, think of something! There are at least a hundred of them here..." Before he could finish, another person lunged at him.
Fangsheng thrust his sword straight into the attacker's chest, pulled it out, and delivered a swift front kick to the opponent's stomach. The enemy was sent crashing to the ground, his sturdy build crushing several others beneath him.
"Goddess of Radiance, please grant my hero the strength that surpasses mortal limits!" As the words fell, Fangsheng suddenly felt a surging power flood his entire body.
No, just giving me strength isn't going to help! I can't possibly hack my way through this many people!
"Fangsheng! Catch the sword!" Hearing someone call his name, Fangsheng instinctively looked back. He didn't see the person, but instead saw a flashing blade flying straight toward him.
Just as he was wondering what to do, his body moved on its own. He threw away the longsword in his hand, raised both hands high to catch the flying blade, and swung it in a wide arc.
"Squelch!"
As the sharp blade swept through, cutting through the flesh of the enemies before him was as smooth as slicing tofu. The enemies standing close by had already been cut clean in half by that single strike.
Looking at the bloody scene before him—blood, intestines, and internal organs spilling all over the ground—Fangsheng didn't feel a shred of nausea! Instead, he took a step forward and continued to wield the five-foot-long greatsword in his hands, harvesting the lives of the surrounding enemies!
The greatsword was wielded by Fangsheng with such impenetrable speed that for a moment no one could approach him! Moreover, the heavy sword was exceptionally razor-sharp; anyone grazed by it was either dead or severely maimed! In a mere half-minute, more than ten people had already perished beneath the giant sword!
The more Fangsheng swung the greatsword in his hand, the smoother it felt, to the point where he even felt as though he was originally meant to use this very greatsword!
Watching Fangsheng charging through the crowd like a God of War, the youth stared in blank astonishment. Hasn't this Nameless One failed to step into the transcendent realm? How can he be this absurd?!
Yet he did not remain stunned for long, because if he kept lingering, the sacrificial offerings he needed would all be slaughtered by this madman holding a greatsword and laughing while he killed!
He chanted softly, pointing his magic wand at Fangsheng. Just as he prepared to assassinate him, he suddenly received a warning from the Shadow Fiend and hurriedly retreated.
Seeing the youth dodge his blow, the Administrator snatched up his short saber and pursued him in a lethal chase.
Unflustered, the youth parried the strike with his magic wand. Suddenly, his pristine left hand turned pitch black, transformed into a claw shape, and lunged toward the Administrator's abdomen!
The Administrator was no slouch either; he quickly pulled back his blade and retreated, narrowly dodging the youth's vicious attack.
The two confronted each other. Looking at the Administrator, the youth said with malicious intent, "So it turns out to be Lord Administrator. You know, if it weren't for Rosa, I might not have caught you off guard with my sneak attack!" Unfortunately, the Administrator maintained a poker face and continued his onslaught against the youth.
Blocking the blow and seeing no reaction from his opponent, the youth provoked him further: "You know, Rosa is very loyal to you! If it weren't for my harsh torture, she probably wouldn't have told me!" At the same time, seizing the opportunity, he cast a blood-burning spell on the people blocking Fangsheng, hoping this crowd could stall Fangsheng for a little longer.
While parrying the Administrator's attacks, the youth kept spewing trash talk: "By the way, Rosa tastes wonderful. But I never imagined that after serving you for so long, she was still a virgin!"
Finally, anger surfaced on the Administrator's face, and he began slashing his short saber forward in a somewhat frenzied manner.
Seeing that the Administrator had taken the bait, a sinister look flashed in the youth's eyes. His left hand quietly gathered power, preparing to deal the Administrator a fatal blow with a single strike.
Right at that moment, Lewan's anxious voice rang out: "Mr. Administrator! Please don't be swayed by his words! Miss Rosa is unharmed!"
As her voice fell, the Administrator suddenly felt a wave of clarity wash over his mind. Catching sight of the youth's cocked, ready-to-strike left hand, he quickly retreated!
Seeing his scheme ruined once again by Lewan, the youth shot her a hateful glare and communicated mentally with the Shadow Fiend lurking in the shadows: "Go and kill that witch!"
