The thoughts during prayer once again surfaced in Roland's mind, filling him with guilt. He regretted knowing how unfriendly people were toward Beastmen yet still leaving Neem at home. He rubbed Neem's small belly and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you alone..." The rest of the words remained unspoken as Neem struggled to sit up, wrapping her slender arms around Roland and pulling him into her small embrace. She said very sensibly, "Roland is wonderful, don't be like this, it's Neem's fault. Neem will wear a cloak to buy things tomorrow, so they won't be able to see Neem's ears and tail." Hearing Neem speak with such sensible words in her childish voice, Roland felt a tightness in his chest and blurted out, "I'll take you to the church."
