Chapter 11

1,273 words6 minutes read

Elwin opened his status panel and checked it.
He discovered that both the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse had jumped straight to Level 2 after being cast only once.
Meanwhile, the Accio he had used so many times had only just reached Level 2.
This left Elwin somewhat perplexed.
"System! Explain! What is going on?!"
[Ding! The amount of proficiency gained from using Spells is related to the host's innate talent! The higher the host's talent, the more proficiency is gained per use!]
Elwin's lips twitched slightly.
Fine, no need to say any more.
He understood now.
This was forcing him down the path of a dark wizard.
Who even remembered that he was actually a decent person?
He let out a sigh.
Elwin flicked the wand in his hand, sending two Cruciatus Curses flying toward those two figures.
The next moment, wails of agony rang out from the woods once more.
Such wonderful punching bags certainly deserved to be put to good use.
Half an hour later, through Elwin's unremitting efforts, his Cruciatus Curse and Imperius Curse had both reached Level 3.
Without a doubt, this was a massive upgrade. Just one more level, and he would be able to cast spells silently.
However, Elwin did not continue practicing.
As for the reason—
Those two poor bastards had completely lost their minds.
Rivers and Old Tom at the side were thoroughly frightened.
They had witnessed with their own eyes the terrifying torture those two had endured.
Rivers quietly asked Old Tom beside him, "Tom, does the young master have a new hobby now? What a terrifying hobby!"
Old Tom glared at Rivers.
Honestly, sometimes he really felt utterly exhausted.
How was it that he always had such an idiot teammate by his side?
Could a question like that just be blurted out directly?
Even if you wanted to ask, you should ask in private.
Sure enough, the next instant, Elwin's death glare was cast in their direction.
Old Tom quickly stood straight, turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to everything around him.
Receiving no response from Old Tom, Rivers doubtfully tugged at Old Tom's sleeve.
"I'm talking to you, Old Tom!"
How could Old Tom dare to pay Rivers any mind?
Right at that moment, Elwin's voice rang out.
"Rivers! Work hard on your physical training during this time! I'm considering whether someone as robust as you can withstand a few more Cruciatus Curses than those two! Don't let me down!"
Rivers instantly tensed up all over.
He turned his head to look at Elwin in terror.
Elwin gave his wrist a flick: "Avada Kedavra!"
With two consecutive incantations, a pair of green lights flew toward the two men who had already been driven mad by torture.
Immediately afterward, the two men's complexions rapidly turned ashen.
In the blink of an eye, they breathed their last.
Rivers was scared out of his wits.
"Young master, young master, I was wrong!"
Elwin let out a cold snort.
"Let's go! Head back!"
Of course, he was just scaring Rivers.
Rivers was utterly loyal to Elwin, known as Elwin's foremost hound! His only flaw was that he wasn't very bright and had a terrible, running mouth!
As for the corpses in the forest, Elwin didn't bother with them.
Naturally, there were men who would handle that.
Moreover, not a single trace would be left behind.
In the blink of an eye, half a month flashed past.
The date arrived at August 30th.
He hadn't spent a single day of these past two weeks in idleness.
Every single day was spent practicing various magic.
Consequently, his magical proficiency had skyrocketed in a straight line.
Elwin opened his system panel and checked the Spells section.
[Spells Mastery: Accio (Level 3), Levitation Charm (Level 3), Shield Charm (Level 3), Expelliarmus (Level 3), Occlumency (Level 1), Patronus Charm (Level 1), Killing Curse (Level 3), Imperius Curse (Level 4), Cruciatus Curse (Level 4).]
[Magic Proficiency: 5,100!]
That's right, this was the harvest of Elwin's unremitting efforts over half a month.
As for the Patronus Charm and Occlumency, Elwin simply couldn't find a way to practice them.
All the remaining spells had been trained by him to Level 3.
As for the Imperius Curse and Cruciatus Curse, Elwin really had to thank Eagle Country for such a chaotic world to have progressed so quickly.
A endless stream of various villains truly emerged one after another.
All of these people were captured back by Rivers to serve as Elwin's experience babies.
If given another month, Elwin was confident he could raise all his spells to Level 4, reaching the level of completely non-verbal casting.
Pity, time had run out.
Although Hogwarts officially started school on September 1st, young wizards actually arrived at Hogwarts on the 31st.
Formal classes would begin on September 1st.
Today, Elwin intended to give himself a holiday and rest for a day.
After all, practicing magic every day was quite tiring for him.
Moreover, he would be away at school for several months, and family matters needed to be delegated.
At the very least, he had to ensure that no problems arose within the family while he was away.
Looking at his remaining 5,100 points of spell proficiency, Elwin pondered for a moment.
He spent 2,200 to upgrade both Occlumency and the Patronus Charm to Level 3!
Elwin had to admit that adding points was truly far more comfortable than cultivating on his own.
He flipped through the remaining spells, but none of them could be upgraded anymore.
Just as he was about to close the system panel, Elwin suddenly noticed that his reputation points had inexplicably risen to 2,700!
This was a pleasant surprise. After inquiring with the system, the system explained that it was because of the massive commotion he caused when buying his wand, which had now spread on a small scale among wizards.
That was why he had accumulated so many reputation points.
2,700 reputation points were just enough for Elwin to do thirty basic draws.
Elwin didn't hesitate and immediately started drawing.
Swish, swish, swish, swish.
[Ding! Ten consecutive draws completed, rewards acquired!]
[Spicy Gluten Strips X4!]
[Coca-Cola X3!]
[Stinky socks worn by an unknown entity X2!]
[Blue pity reward: Talent Point X1!]
Elwin's face darkened instantly!
Sure enough, he shouldn't have had any expectations for these basic draws.
Draws could be down-to-earth, but you couldn't be down-in-the-underworld.
May I ask what stinky socks are supposed to be?
Elwin directly took those random things out of his system inventory and threw them into the trash can.
Oh, wait, the spiced beef chunks and spicy gluten strips—Elwin kept those!
He hadn't eaten this stuff in a while, and he was quite craving it.
Elwin initiated ten consecutive draws once again.
Suddenly, a purple light reflected in Elwin's eyes.
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for incredible luck, drawing a purple reward!]
[Shorthand Quill X3!]
[Bawang Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo X2!]
[Curry-scented Body Wash X3!]
[Blue pity reward: Talent Point X1!]
[Purple reward: Space ring (castrated version) with a twelve-cubic-meter capacity!]
Elwin's lips twitched slightly. He could understand the rest, but please, what on earth was curry-scented body wash?
Elwin couldn't be bothered to think about it anymore. At least there was a purple reward—wasn't that wonderful?
And it was a space ring to boot.
Even though this world had things like the Undetectable Extension Charm, Elwin didn't know how to cast it.
He had originally planned to go to Diagon Alley to see if he could buy a trunk or something enchanted with the Undetectable Extension Charm! Now it was settled—much less hassle.
