As previously mentioned, the original Four Divine Beasts chose to stop the fighting in order to strive for peace, but they paid a heavy price. Unfortunately, the sacrifice they made was entirely meaningless.
Although the actions of the Four Divine Beasts did no wrong to their own people, their homeland, or the Primordial World, this approach was, in essence, a form of evasion.
They used their lives to forcibly halt that war, allowing the warriors on both sides to temporarily lay down their arms, but they failed to fundamentally resolve the root contradictions between the two worlds.
