"Fu Jingzhou, I will say this one more time."
Lin Anqiao turned her head and cast a cold, chilling glance at this seemingly happy "family of three," her tone terrifyingly calm.
"I said, I want a divorce."
Fu Jingzhou froze for a moment, his brows locked in a frown as he spoke with impatience: "Fine, then let’s divorce. Just don't come crying to the gates of the Fu Residence later."
This was the man she had once given her heart to. Lin Anqiao sneered inwardly; there is no sorrow greater than a dead heart.
She tightened her grip on Song Yu’s small hand and turned to leave without hesitation.
For some reason, this time, Fu Jingzhou felt as though he were about to lose someone truly important in his life.
Fu Xiaochuan’s lips turned slightly pale, yet he kept a cold face and said: "Mom is definitely just throwing a tantrum. Once she’s done, she’ll come crawling back, as always."
He grabbed Qiao Yusu’s hand with such force that he didn’t even realize it: "Auntie Yusu, let's go too."
Qiao Yusu offered a tight-lipped smile: "Xiaochuan, you’re holding my hand too tightly."
Seeing the red marks left on her skin, she boldly thrust her hand in front of Fu Jingzhou, wearing a radiant smile: "Brother Fu, your son hurt my hand. Could you help me blow on it?"
This time, Fu Jingzhou ignored her, feeling nothing but intense irritation.
He looked at Qiao Yusu and said: "When did you become so delicate?"
Qiao Yusu sensed his displeasure, let out an awkward laugh, patted his shoulder, and said: "Haha, Brother Fu, I just wanted to lighten the mood."
After a moment, she added, "Brother Fu, I really feel it’s not worth it for you. You’ve already softened your stance, yet Anqiao is still making a scene. She’s nothing like me; I’ve always been the same as when we were children."
Thinking of the kindness Qiao Yusu had shown him in their youth, Fu Jingzhou’s expression softened.
Qiao Yusu took the opportunity to say: "Who knows how long Anqiao will keep this up? I’m worried about Xiaochuan with no one to look after him. Why don't I move into your place for a while to take care of the child?"
Fu Jingzhou frowned but did not refuse.
Assuming he had agreed, Qiao Yusu brazenly asked the driver to help move her luggage.
Back at the Fu Residence, Qiao Yusu acted as if she were the lady of the house, setting down her personal belongings.
Fu Jingzhou went straight to the study to work, while Fu Xiaochuan huffed and slammed his bedroom door shut.
He kept muttering: "I can live just fine without that woman."
The living room fell into an unsettling silence.
A long time later, Fu Jingzhou’s irritable voice rang out: "Li Sao, where is my stomach medicine? Where did you put it?"
Li Sao hurried over: "The Madam always took care of those things; I have no idea where they are."
Fu Jingzhou couldn't be bothered with anything else; he grabbed his phone and dialed Lin Anqiao’s number.
However, the call was hung up the moment it connected.
Angry and anxious, the cramping in his stomach intensified, accompanied by a dull ache in his chest.
He gave a disdainful sneer: "She’s becoming truly lawless. Does she really think I’ll keep indulging her like this?"
Just then, Fu Xiaochuan’s crying erupted from his room.
Enduring his stomach pain, Fu Jingzhou pushed open the door.
He touched the boy’s forehead—it was burning hot.
Fu Xiaochuan opened his eyes, his lids red and swollen: "Dad, I feel terrible. I want to eat the food Mom makes."
Realizing he couldn't reach Lin Anqiao, Fu Jingzhou told Qiao Yusu to come and cook for the boy.
Qiao Yusu arrived quickly. Seeing Fu Xiaochuan demanding his mother’s cooking, her face twisted with jealousy, but she forced a smile: "Be good, Xiaochuan. Auntie Yusu can make you something delicious, too."
Qiao Yusu fussed in the kitchen for a long time before managing to put together three dishes and a soup, though they looked quite unappetizing.
Fu Xiaochuan took one bite and spat it out immediately.
He pouted, crying: "This isn't good. It doesn't taste like Mom’s cooking."
The house was in chaos. Fu Jingzhou knit his brows, finally realizing that without Lin Anqiao, his home was falling into total disarray.
He felt a surge of anger at her heartlessness for actually abandoning her husband and child.
Thinking this, his brow furrowed even deeper.
Just then, the divorce agreement sent by Lin Anqiao arrived via courier.
Fu Jingzhou took the documents, a nameless fury rising within him.
Looking at the black-and-white text, he frowned and spoke to Fu Xiaochuan in a cold voice: "Do you see? She won't be your mother for much longer."
Fu Xiaochuan felt dizzy, but he kept thinking, *Why is Mom still throwing a tantrum? She’s so unreasonable!*
Burning with anger, Fu Jingzhou signed the papers in a fit of pique.
He didn't notice that his own hand, usually so steady and unshakable, was trembling slightly.
After signing, he immediately called Lin Anqiao.
Meanwhile, Lin Anqiao had just picked up Song Yu from kindergarten and was stopped in her tracks by Song Hanjiang.
The man, with his broad shoulders and narrow waist, leaned against the doorway, an apron tied behind his back—he looked exactly like a male enchantress.
Lin Anqiao’s heart skipped a beat, and she lowered her eyes.
She heard his lazy voice drift over: "I made dinner. Want to eat together?"
Hearing this, Song Yu exclaimed, "Wow!" her lovely deer-like eyes widening as she turned to Lin Anqiao: "Auntie Qiaoqiao, you’re in for a treat! Uncle rarely cooks, but his food is delicious!"
Song Hanjiang’s peach-blossom eyes scanned her nonchalantly, a half-smile playing on his lips as he waited for her reply.
A strange, eerie silence hung in the air.
In seven years of marriage, Fu Jingzhou had never cooked a single meal for her.
A wave of warmth flooded her heart, yet her stomach churned with intermittent, sharp pains. She was in too much pain to eat.
Lin Anqiao twitched the corner of her lips: "I won't be eating. I..."
Song Yu cried out, though her words were directed at Song Hanjiang, her tone somewhat anxious.
"Oh, right, Uncle! Auntie Qiaoqiao isn't feeling well today. Shouldn't you take her to see a doctor?"
Song Hanjiang’s gaze cooled by a degree.
Staring at the woman’s frail frame, he frowned: "When you have time, I’ll take you to the hospital."
His tone wasn't cold, but it was incredibly forceful, brooking no refusal.
"I’ll only feel at ease once you’ve been checked out." Song Hanjiang’s eyes held a hint of cool, leisurely amusement as he kept his gaze fixed on her.
Lin Anqiao felt an emptiness in her heart.
Her fingertips curled, an instinctive desire to refuse rising up. If he found out she only had three months left... she dared not even think about it.
Lin Anqiao hung her head, deep in thought, when her pocket vibrated.
It was a call from Fu Jingzhou.
Feeling a sense of relief, she smiled at Song Hanjiang and said: "Brother, let me take this call first."
Song Hanjiang watched her, his gaze lingering on her for a long moment before he gave a soft, "Mm."
The inquiry in his eyes made Lin Anqiao shiver, and she quickly stepped away.
The moment the call connected, Fu Jingzhou’s angry voice came through: "Lin Anqiao, I’ve signed the divorce agreement. You’ve truly gone too far this time. Don't you ever think I’ll forgive you! Come get the papers now."
It was rare to see Fu Jingzhou so out of control, and though Lin Anqiao felt a strange sense of confusion, she quickly let it go.
Listening to his threats, she replied indifferently: "Fine, I’ll come to get them."
Lin Anqiao had left the phone on speaker, so the voice was audible.
Hearing the content of their conversation, Song Hanjiang’s expression darkened.
A dangerous light entered his eyes. He reached out with his long, slender fingers and plucked the phone from her hand.
His voice was lazy, yet edged with sarcasm: "Fu Jingzhou, since you’re getting a divorce, stop with that high-and-mighty tone. As for how she is, that’s not for you to decide, nor is forgiveness your call to make."
"Furthermore, I expect every cent of my sister-in-law’s matrimonial property to be accounted for."
