Compared to the fervent activity atop Hanyun Mountain, the Cloud Bar in the city center was a different kind of bustling.
The deafening music rocked the room, and throngs of young men and women swayed their heads on the dance floor to the DJ’s dynamic rhythm. Above them, laser lights flashed so intensely they made one feel dizzy, as if one’s own heart were beating in a frantic, syncopated rhythm.
And that was to say nothing of the stimulation provided by the alcohol.
