Yue Tianrui's actions drew everyone's gaze toward him.
And then, following his movements, their eyes shifted to Fang Xiu.
"Isn't that Fang Xiu?"
"Yeah, the principal went over to find him."
"What did the principal just take? Does it have something to do with Fang Xiu?"
"That's an Awakening Monster Crystal, if I remember correctly."
"Huh? Do you think Fang Xiu's SSS-rank Sacrificer class is no good, so they're going to re-awaken him?"
"This... can you even re-awaken?"
Many students were filled with doubt.
They were eager to know what Yue Tianrui was up to.
Of course, they were even more curious about Fang Xiu, an SSS-rank Sacrificer.
Could someone who had already awakened really do it again?
Let alone the students, even the few teachers who had been left somewhat dumbfounded by Yue Tianrui's actions were now filled with curiosity.
Could awakening really be done twice?
If so, what would a re-awakening look like?
Did a re-awakening only reset the talent while keeping the SSS rank intact?
Though these teachers didn't start openly discussing it like the students, a few of them exchanged glances.
In their hearts, a thought crossed their minds: perhaps they could try it too?
Several teachers whose awakened talents weren't very good subconsciously looked back at the Awakening Monster Crystal resting on the Awakening Formation behind them.
If it were truly possible, maybe... they should take the risk.
Keeping the talent grade while re-awakening the talent itself—such a prospect was deeply tempting to anyone whose current rank was decent but whose actual awakening was disappointing.
By this time, Yue Tianrui had already walked up to Fang Xiu.
Students and teachers alike watched with intense curiosity and anticipation.
"As the principal of this school, I keep my word."
Yue Tianrui handed the Awakening Monster Crystal to Fang Xiu and said, "Here, take it!"
"Thank you, Principal! You're very generous!"
Without standing on ceremony, Fang Xiu took the Awakening Monster Crystal and thanked him.
Just by looking at it, this Awakening Monster Crystal seemed fit to be offered in sacrifice.
Yet Fang Xiu remained uneasy; after all, it had been removed from the array and handled by the principal.
Would the Goddess of Life dislike it now?
After all, it had been touched by this bald, old man.
Fang Xiu hesitated for a moment.
"System, scan the Awakening Monster Crystal in front of me!"
Unwilling to take chances, Fang Xiu had the system run a check.
If he botched the sacrifice and the Goddess of Life confiscated his three legs as punishment, he would be completely screwed.
[A low-tier water-type Monster Crystal. In the hands of the right person, it holds a certain value. The Goddess of Life happens to be missing a bead on her bracelet; sacrificing it to her will make her somewhat happy and earn you a reward.]
"Phew!"
Seeing the system prompt, Fang Xiu finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed the crystal hadn't been tainted by the principal's hands.
Yet, while the principal spoke of it as a high-end, magnificent Awakening Monster Crystal, in the hands of the Goddess of Life, it was merely a low-tier water-type Monster Crystal.
The gap between the two was vast indeed.
Had he relied solely on the principal's words and looked at this so-called precious "Awakening Monster Crystal" without the system, he might have casually sacrificed a fire-type or some other crystal instead.
And he likely would have faced the Goddess of Life's wrath.
"Fang Xiu, hurry up and try it!"
While Fang Xiu was running the system scan, Yue Tianrui urged him impatiently from the side.
Though it pained him to part with it, he was eager to witness the sacrifice results of an SSS-rank Sacrificer.
He had once read a book containing descriptions of Sacrificers.
The book stated that a Sacrificer's judgment in making offerings depended entirely on their talent grade.
The higher the talent, the stronger the discernment, and the fewer mistakes made in sacrifice.
The author of that book had investigated nearly a hundred Sacrificers.
However, the highest among them possessed only an A-rank talent—the very person Yue Tianrui had mentioned earlier.
Because that book carried significant authority, Yue Tianrui felt confident letting Fang Xiu give it a try.
After all, a Sacrificer couldn't go their entire life without performing a sacrifice.
Otherwise, they would simply remain an ordinary person who happened to possess the Sacrificer talent.
And this was to be Fang Xiu's very first attempt at a sacrifice.
"Alright!"
Fang Xiu nodded slightly, then held the Awakening Monster Crystal in both hands.
He closed his eyes and whispered, "Great Goddess of Life, I offer this low-tier water-type Monster Crystal to you!"
Low-tier?
Hearing this, Yue Tianrui was rendered momentarily speechless.
This was a remarkably valuable Awakening Monster Crystal!
Still, he refrained from interrupting Fang Xiu at that moment.
They watched as the Awakening Monster Crystal in Fang Xiu's hands suddenly emitted a brilliant flash of light, after which the crystal vanished.
The brilliance, however, lingered.
Before long, a rectangular box materialized in Fang Xiu's hands.
"What is this?"
Fang Xiu looked curious.
He could feel that the rectangular box felt heavy in his hands.
It seemed to contain something quite substantial.
Only by opening it would he know what was truly inside.
"Go ahead and open it, let's see what it is!"
Yue Tianrui's curiosity was peaked as well.
After all, this was an item obtained by sacrificing an Awakening Monster Crystal.
Naturally, the value of whatever was inside would also reveal whether the offering Fang Xiu chose was the most suitable one for that particular deity.
The exact same item might be accepted if offered to different deities.
Yet, because of differing degrees of affection, the rewards granted in return would vary.
The more a deity favored the sacrifice, the better the reward they would bestow.
"Okay!"
Without hiding anything, Fang Xiu opened the box right in front of the principal.
Immediately, a vibrant green light burst forth from the opened box.
The light radiated an aura brimming with life.
The moment he felt this surge of vitality, Yue Tianrui's eyes lit up.
At that instant, he knew Fang Xiu's choice of sacrifice had been entirely correct.
Offering that low-tier water-type Monster Crystal to the Goddess of Life had hit the mark.
As a deity, would she really be lacking such a low-tier monster crystal?
Certainly not.
That could only mean the Goddess of Life genuinely adored the low-tier monster crystal Fang Xiu had offered.
To strike the right chord with the Goddess of Life on your very first sacrifice—
Wouldn't future sacrifices be absolute child's play?
On this point, Yue Tianrui was genuinely happy for Fang Xiu.
Perhaps in the future, this SSS-rank Sacrificer could go much further than any of his predecessors.
Before long, Fang Xiu's strength would likely skyrocket.
After all, Sacrificers enjoyed the fastest growth rate of all.
As long as their sacrifices hit the mark, they could increase their power far more swiftly than anyone else who had to go out and fight for it.
Of course, the price of making a wrong sacrifice was equally catastrophic.
"Hurry up and see what it is!" Yue Tianrui urged.
Fang Xiu nodded and peered into the box.
Beside him, Yue Tianrui waited with eager anticipation!
