The stench of blood grew even heavier, almost making me feel nauseous. I could even hear the sound of my own rapid heartbeat, exceptionally clear in the silent forest.
Suddenly, a deafening roar rang out once more, even more ferocious and violent than before. Immediately afterward, the ground began to tremor, as if some colossal creature was approaching. I instinctively took a step back, staring fixedly at the direction from which the sound came.
Accompanied by the sound of collapsing trees, a huge demonic beast entered my field of vision. It was massive, its entire body covered in black scales that flashed with a metallic luster. A pair of crimson eyes, like burning flames, emitted a chilling radiance. It opened its blood-red maw, revealing sharp fangs, and exhaled a foul-smelling breath.
