Chapter 156

2,957 words15 minutes read

The False God's "Zeroing Tuning Fork" tore through space. The destruction ripples of its vibration had not yet touched the Mothership's wreckage when an invisible pressure descended in advance. The "String Nest Cradle"—that giant, translucent blue cocoon constructed from law-bound mycelium, growing crazily within the Mothership's massive breach—saw its surface crystal-clear halo instantly turn like glass under crushing weight, caving violently inward! The mycelium armor layer covering the wreckage's hull behaved like plastic dropped into a steelmaking furnace; large areas began to boil, melt, and peel away, transforming into a sky full of ghostly blue ash that drifted in the cold vacuum. The energy readings inside the Cradle leaped wildly on the bridge's surviving screens, jumping straight from overload to a critical point breaking the red line! The pulsation deep within the Cradle—that "String Nest Core" fusing order, life, and obsession—grew with every beat like the final spasm of a dying heart. Its ghostly blue light flickered uncertainly, as if it would be completely extinguished in the next moment. The law-bound mycelium maintaining the Cradle's existence emitted an unbearable, shrill scream. A terrifying tearing sensation on the level of law-bound structures, impossible to measure in physical units, pierced the consciousness of all surviving Crystal-Scarred Race members, sounding like billions of invisible strings pulled to their absolute limit just before snapping!
