Kong Xuan nodded in acknowledgment, and Zhang Qing pressed a finger to Kong Xuan's brow, transmitting the Shangqing Immortal Method to him. Once Kong Xuan had absorbed it all, he bowed and expressed his gratitude: "Thank you, Master, for imparting the Dharma."
Zhang Qing glanced at Kong Xuan and said, "I noticed colorful divine light flashing on your body from time to time. This must be your innate divine ability; comprehend it as soon as you can, its power should be quite extraordinary."
With that, he pointed with his finger once more, passing on some of his insights into the Law of Fire. This made Kong Xuan even more excited. He bowed deeply once again and said, "Thank you, Master, for the grace of transmitting the Dharma. From this day forward, Kong Xuan swears to follow Master to the death. Should I ever break this oath, let heaven and earth and all living things condemn me."
