Chapter 331: At Least, Let's Hope We Don't Like the Same Person
The three of them walked down the street outside the hotel. The night in the magic city grew bitingly cold in the winter wind. Since it was already midnight, there were very few pedestrians, and the glow of the streetlights cast long, pale shadows. In the night, the city seemed stained with a heavy, melancholy gray. The bustling noise that filled the area around the tall buildings during the day had vanished, replaced by a silence and a sense of loneliness that felt as though it could never be fully dispelled.
In such an environment, people’s movements became cautious and their voices hushed, as if walking on sharp blades, fearing that a single misstep would let the icy wind pierce their hearts. The shops along the street were all dormant, with a cold red light seeping faintly from their glass windows, looking particularly desolate. Occasionally, a few cars would pass the intersection, their flickering headlights creating a strange and beautiful interweaving of light and shadow against the dim ambient glow.
