Su Mu sat up from her bed, her eyes still clouded with sleep.
She felt something strange about her ears, though she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was. It felt a bit itchy, yet not quite. It wasn't pain, either. Since the sensation was mild, Su Mu didn't pay it much mind, dismissing it as a psychological aftereffect of her surgery.
Su Mu got out of bed, washed up, changed her clothes, put on her hearing aid, and headed to class with her roommate. Although Su Mu felt she might not pursue a career in Classical Philology, intending instead to continue managing the cake shop, she still attended every lecture with great diligence. Her GPA from the previous semester was among the top three in the department. The two students ranking ahead of her were already preparing to transfer to other majors, which was perfectly normal; the major was quite niche, and unless one planned to teach or work in a library, it was difficult to find employment.
