The first day of sophomore year.
Most sophomores didn't feel much of anything about the start of their second year; in fact, some were even excited. Because starting today, they were finally "Seniors." There are always those who believe that once they advance a grade, they gain a sort of "Senior halo"—that their attraction to the opposite sex has become more intense, that they have become more mature. In reality, unless you are genuinely handsome, being a grade higher doesn't grant you any "senior charm" at all. Otherwise, in the eyes of others, you’ve at most become a bit more greasy—and perhaps significantly more so. When a freshman girl meets you, she might appear respectful on the surface, but in reality, she’ll block you the moment she turns around.
For Li Jiangnan and the others, however, the new semester brought a different sentiment. As for Ye Ge, he couldn't help but feel a bit nostalgic. The back row of the classroom was, as expected, the best place to sleep. He often suspected that if he ever felt too stressed or suffered from insomnia, he could just walk into a university lecture, slump down in that last row, and fall asleep instantly.
