Ruan Jiaojiao curled up in his arms, her fingers absently twisting the drawstring of his bathrobe. Marks remained on his chest—they looked like bite marks and scratches. She didn't really want to dwell on the memories of that night, though much of it was a blur. Who on earth could she have offended that they would go so far as to drug her? If Second Uncle hadn't appeared in the nick of time, she dared not imagine the consequences. She also wondered if Chen Momo and the others were worried about her since she hadn't been to school in two or three days. After a while, Ruan Jiaojiao heard the steady rhythm of breathing above her and realized Fu Zhinian had fallen asleep. She lingered a moment longer, but unable to drift back to sleep, she gingerly climbed out of bed. Her phone was on the nightstand; it had apparently run out of battery.
