"And what is the second possibility?"
"Deep inside the warehouse of the Cairo Museum, there might be a powerful treasure."
Wen Lie gently swirled his glass, the white sugarcane juice sloshing inside. Everyone, including Xiao Honglv, could sense his pleasure and self-assurance.
Wen Lie was genuinely happy.
Although he had felt some tension and disorientation right after waking up, those feelings had faded as time passed, replaced by a growing sense of excitement and anticipation.
Unlike other time-travelers, Wen Lie felt very little resistance or aversion toward this world of Infinite Horror.
Just like Zheng Zha and the others, he felt that the real world was completely rotten; he was already sick to death of living an ordinary, dead-end life.
Coming into a world where he possessed a vast amount of intelligence was like returning twenty years into the past with memories of the future—he could find ways to make money, buy stocks, buy Bitcoin, bet on Germany beating Brazil 7-1, buy real estate, and easily live the life of a winner.
Of course, this world of Infinite Horror was far from easy; the threat of death was everywhere, but with gain came loss.
Being able to adventure in an infinite world, possessing immense power and wealth that was completely out of reach in reality—the danger was simply the price paid to obtain all of that.
Though his mom always nagged him that he hadn't grown up yet, he really wasn't a little kid. He didn't believe there was any such thing as a free lunch in this world.
"A treasure? The Cairo Museum? What kind of treasure could possibly be in a place like that?"
Not only Zheng Zha, but O'Connell was baffled as well.
Aside from a massive collection of books, the Cairo Museum held little more than mummies. None of those things could possibly be described as treasures.
Wen Lie decided to keep them in suspense.
After all, he couldn't be one hundred percent certain.
The plot of Indiana Jones explicitly mentioned Indiana himself and the Holy Grail as a treasure.
However, what he was looking for now was never mentioned in the original story; it was merely hinted at by a single clue.
If he spoke too confidently now and came up empty-handed later, it would be utterly humiliating.
After the meal, they rested for a moment.
"Captain, accompany me to the museum."
Wen Lie said, holding a box of Umm Ali as he looked at Zheng Zha.
"Let's go."
Zheng Zha stood up, his face full of curiosity. He had already endured tens of minutes of agonizing suspense just to find out what on earth was hidden in the museum's warehouse.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to go too!"
Qin Zhuiyu cried out hastily, lifting the hem of her skirt as she hurriedly hurried around the table.
With unclaimed treasures up for grabs, how could she possibly miss out on a share of the pie?
Qin Zhuiyu's eyes flickered. She had climbed from an ordinary woman with a humble background to become a major celebrity precisely because she knew how to seize any opportunity to get ahead.
Gao Hongliang adjusted his glasses and said modestly, "Captain, I also want to contribute something to the team."
Xiao Honglv plucked a strand of hair and blew on it gently. Shifting his gaze away from the floating black strand, he said to Zheng Zha, "If there are treasures, I'd like to see them for myself."
Xiao Honglv's eyes landed on Wen Lie, carrying a hint of provocation and skepticism. They were all newcomers; he refused to believe that Wen Lie could possess more information than he did.
Seeing that several newcomers from what seemed to be the same camp had adopted this attitude, Zhang Heng hurriedly stood up and said, "Uh, I—I'm going too."
None of them—Zhang Jie, Zhan Lan, Qi Tengyi, and the rest—were lacking in interest.
O'Connell felt the same way; he wanted to see what kind of treasure that museum could possibly hold.
Wen Lie scooped up a bite of Umm Ali with his spoon. The bread, baked and soaked in milk and honey, was mixed with raisins, coconut, and nuts. It tasted a bit sweet and rich in his mouth, but for Wen Lie, it was just right.
Zheng Zha looked at the expressions of the people around him and figured it wouldn't hurt for everyone to go together.
"Shall we all go together, then?"
Turning his head, Zheng Zha asked Wen Lie.
Wen Lie shrugged, swallowed his mouthful of bread, and said unhurriedly, "I don't mind at all, just don't blame me if people start dying."
"People will die? Is it that dangerous?"
Zheng Zha's heart jolted, and his expression turned grave.
"Look at you saying that—does pie fall from the sky? If anyone plans on being cannon fodder, I won't object."
As soon as Wen Lie said this, Qin Zhuiyu, Gao Hongliang, and Zhang Heng immediately had thoughts of backing out.
Zheng Zha had originally thought that the treasure Wen Lie mentioned could be picked up easily, just like that Buddhist scripture in The Grudge, but who would have thought it came with danger?
Even so, Zheng Zha didn't back down over something like this.
God's Dimension was a fair place; here, rewards and risks were directly proportional.
If there really were dangers waiting for them in the Cairo Museum, it only proved that the rewards they stood to gain would be satisfying enough.
"Zhao Yinkong and I will go together. The rest of you stay here."
Zheng Zha lowered his head, thought for a moment, and made his decision.
As it happened, Zheng Zha and Zhao Yinkong were precisely the companions Wen Lie had hoped for.
While having Ling Dian along would have made things even more secure, just having Zheng Zha and Zhao Yinkong was perfectly fine.
Wen Lie smiled faintly; getting along with this version of Zheng Zha was quite comfortable.
His timing upon entering had been just right—Zheng Zha had grown through his previous horror film and had developed a much deeper understanding of God's Dimension.
Otherwise, he certainly would have had to waste a lot of breath to get Zheng Zha to cooperate.
To prevent accidents, the only ones taking part in the operation would be Wen Lie, Zheng Zha, and Zhao Yinkong.
Walking on the road, Zheng Zha repeatedly wanted to ask: What exactly had Wen Lie discovered? And how had he figured it out?
Wen Lie only smiled.
"It's nothing entirely certain yet, just one possibility among many. If I swaggered out and blurted it out now, only to find out things aren't at all what I thought, wouldn't that be deeply embarrassing?"
Wen Lie used his spoon to cut off a piece of bread. Although his words revealed a lack of absolute certainty, his attitude showed very little self-doubt.
Zheng Zha stopped pressing him; sooner or later, Wen Lie would tell him anyway.
Arriving at the Cairo Museum, just before stepping through the doors, Zhao Yinkong asked Wen Lie, "Where is the treasure you mentioned located? Can you confirm it?"
Wen Lie replied, "It should be in the warehouse."
Zheng Zha hesitated. "The warehouse? The museum staff probably wouldn't let outsiders into the warehouse, would they?"
Zheng Zha had originally thought the treasure Wen Lie spoke of was some special antique on display in the museum galleries, just that no one else knew the power hidden within it.
Who would have thought it was in the warehouse? If it were out in the open, he could have easily used his Spatial Ring to swipe it on the sly, but keeping it locked away in a warehouse made things much more troublesome.
Zheng Zha's expression turned a bit troubled as Zhao Yinkong flashed into the museum.
"Yinkong!"
Zheng Zha hurried inside after her.
Yet, lagging behind by just a single step, the moment they entered the museum, both Zheng Zha and Wen Lie lost all trace of Zhao Yinkong.
The museum was massive, yet there were hardly any visitors inside.
No, it wasn't that there were hardly any visitors—there were no visitors at all.
Zheng Zha and Wen Lie walked down the museum's corridor, their footsteps echoing through the interior space, yet apart from the sounds they made themselves, not a single other noise could be heard.
