Not a single bird silhouette could be seen on the bare branches. In the distance, the mountains were reduced to light-blue outlines. The afterglow of the setting sun dyed the peaks a reddish gold, and a few lonely white flowers blossomed across the overgrown clearing. Right in the middle of this utterly ordinary clearing, wisps of grayish-blue smoke drifted lazily upward. A woman in blue carefully turned a stick in her hands while tossing dry branches into the small campfire. She looked up at the piled-up clouds in the sky for a moment, her movements pausing slightly.
