Chapter 11

An artificial sun. Fusheng remembered from his memories that the Zerg indeed possessed such technology; many planets plagued by perpetual night made use of artificial suns.
Fusheng widened his eyes, hardly daring to believe that such a magnificent invention existed in this world.
Seeing Fusheng remain silent, Alvano assumed he was hesitating and continued, "Lord Husband, Luka Star is property under your name. You may come here whenever you please from now on."
Now it was Fusheng's turn to doubt his ears. He simply could not believe that a planet as vast as Luka Star belonged entirely to him.
"What about these two suns?" Fusheng asked, raising a finger to point at the suns outside the window.
"Naturally yours as well," Alvano replied, assuming Fusheng genuinely wanted to bring the two suns back to the Capital Planet. He added by way of explanation, "Though they cannot be brought back to the Capital Planet due to technical reasons."
Even if they could be brought back, the tens of millions of Zerg citizens living on the Capital Planet would never agree to it.
"Ahhhhh..." Fusheng let out a string of startled shrieks. He was truly about to laugh himself to poverty—to tell the truth, he was still a destitute ghost.
No one offered him incense or tributes, and he couldn't even eat the offerings stolen from other ghosts; every night, he could only drink a little northwest wind and feed on air.
Over time, he only needed to catch a whiff of the scent to know which direction the wind was blowing from.
The wind from the east smelled faintly of nuclear wastewater; even if the fish hadn't mutated, he was about to mutate. He just knew those islanders harbored no good intentions.
Making a show of leaping down from the bed, Fusheng waved his hand and shouted, "Right now, back to the Capital Planet immediately." He could scarcely wait to see the artificial sun.
Alvano and Claire moved with great speed. Within moments, the group had packed up and boarded the warship, leaving Fusheng not the slightest chance to go back on his word.
Before leaving, Cohen handed all his remaining candies over to Fusheng, leaving Fusheng with even fewer attachments to the place.
Once aboard the warship, Fusheng found everything endlessly fascinating, bounding up and down the vessel like a monkey.
Alvano was finally able to catch his breath, while Vane was more than happy to accompany Fusheng in his energetic leaping about.
Fusheng even tried to pry open a glass panel and fly out into space to pluck a star. Concerned for Fusheng's safety, Vane did not indulge him this time and pulled him back.
This warship was of the newest design. Moving at Fusheng's stop-and-go pace, one couldn't tour the whole thing even in half a day.
Fusheng's two days on the warship consisted entirely of exploring the vessel. Whenever he grew tired, he would drop right where he was and fall asleep, truly wandering until he found the brightest light and dozing off beneath it.
Upon reaching the Capital Planet, Fusheng was taken directly home.
Because Fusheng's fuer had taken a primary consort, he no longer lived in the ancestral home, having moved out with his primary consort instead.
Originally, the citizens of the Capital Planet had prepared a grand welcome party for Fusheng, but the Kris family declined it. After spending two days interacting with Fusheng, Claire realized that Fusheng's current mental state made him utterly unsuited for contact with the outside world. He dared not imagine what kind of disaster might ensue if Fusheng attended this welcome party.
The next day without fail, a sensational piece of news would spread: the Zergling of the Kris family had been driven mad by Space Pirates.
Although the welcome party on the Capital Planet was canceled, the welcome celebration at home had long been prepared.
Fusheng's fuer, Yichen, along with his Zerg consorts, had been waiting at the entrance for some time, simply awaiting Fusheng's return home.
Although Yichen had many children, Fusheng had been his only Zergling for all these years, so within the household—aside from Yichen—Fusheng held the highest status, and no one dared to treat him lightly.
Unlike other families, the Kris family allowed their Zerg consorts to go out and work if they wished, without needing the permission of their lord husband; external businesses and social affairs were managed by the consorts, but within the household, the Zerg males still had the final say.
By the time Fusheng arrived at the Capital Planet, it was already dusk, yet Fusheng's home was brightly lit. The artificial sun illuminated the skies above the estate as bright as day.
Everything within the surrounding illuminated radius belonged to Fusheng's household, and no Zerg dared utter a word of complaint.
This artificial sun had been custom-ordered by Yichen specifically for Fusheng. His demands were that it be sufficiently bright, radiate warmth, and recreate the brightness of day.
Since this was an order from a Zerg male, the manufacturer dared not neglect it and completed it with the utmost efficiency.
Once the warship reached the Capital Planet, Fusheng transferred to a small flyer, which landed directly on the helipad behind the estate.
Fusheng was dazzled by the glare of the artificial sun even as he rode in the flyer. When Vane reached out to steady him as he stepped off the craft, Fusheng dodged away.
Vane truly treated him like a hatchling at every moment, acting as though he were a useless bug with simple limbs and a vacant mind.
Whether in his days as a human or a ghost, he had always handled matters big and small by himself, never delegating to others.
Therefore, he could neither accept Vane's meticulous care nor grow accustomed to it.
Vane's affection was intense and profound—a parental love he had never experienced before, scorching and warm, threatening to drown him.
Yet he was not the real Fusheng. Over the past two days, he had felt like a thief, enjoying these things with a heart full of unease yet longing.
He could not accept it with a clear conscience, so he chose to flee.
Vane could only withdraw his hand, crestfallen, though he felt no real anger. In truth, Fusheng had already refused his help over the past two days, yet he had grown so accustomed to it that he had reached out instinctively out of sheer habit.
He knew Fusheng might have grown up; he had seen it with his own eyes over the last two days. Fusheng had indeed changed a great deal—a change for the better.
He had also long known that once Fusheng grew up, he would leave him, just as his Zerg consorts had their own lord husband to care for them, and Fusheng would likewise have his own Zerg consort to look after him.
Even so, a sense of loss lingered in Vane's heart. After all, this was the Zergling he had raised with his own hands for all these years, and moreover, the only child left behind by his older brother.
Paying no attention to Vane, Fusheng walked off on his own.
Vane possessed the typical appearance of a sub-Zerg, with delicate and refined facial features. His stature was more petite compared to the towering Zerg, and a head of light pink hair made him look all the more frail.
Compared to Zerg, sub-Zerg and Zerg males had less disparity in build, which made Zerg males particularly partial to sub-Zerg within Zerg society.
Fusheng was taller than the average Zerg male, standing roughly around Vane's height, though he could not match Alvano; he only reached Alvano's nose. While Fusheng stood at about 1.85 meters, Alvano was nearly two meters tall at 1.96.
Witnessing this scene, Alvano thought Fusheng utterly heartless, willing to cold-shoulder even the sub-Zerg who had raised him since childhood the moment he pleased.
True to form, Zerg males were all alike—utterly unreliable. No matter how well Zerg consorts treated them, they took it for granted, casting away any sentiment as if it were worthless footwear.
Fusheng remained oblivious to Alvano's inner thoughts; even if he had known, he wouldn't have cared. In his mind, Alvano was merely his underling.
Fusheng wanted nothing more than to go and see the artificial sun, but fate refused to cooperate. The moment he stepped out of the flyer, a fleshy ball came hurtling toward him.
The impact sent Fusheng stumbling backward a couple of steps before he managed to steady himself, whereupon he forcefully shoved the object in front of him away.
Only then did Fusheng see clearly that it was his fuer, Yichen.
Caught off guard by the push, Yichen fell backward, only to be caught in a cluster by the Zerg consorts behind him.
He stared at Fusheng in utter shock, a flash of hurt in his eyes. Fusheng had never pushed him away before, and a sense of grievance inevitably welled up in his heart.
