Fusheng woke up to the aroma of food. Having slept for an entire day, he was famished, and the scent left him delightfully dazed. Alvano had prepared it in advance. He had guessed that Fusheng would likely be waking up around this time and, knowing he hadn't eaten all day, that he would be hungry. Fusheng scrambled out of bed, still hazy, stretching his neck to peek at what kind of dumplings were on the menu today. They were white, and he still couldn’t guess what was inside—they looked a bit like fish balls, which he quite liked.
