Lord Fusheng leaned in close to Xingyan's ear, his voice a devilish murmur that cut through the air like a venomous, ice-tipped arrow. An icy chill crawled over Xingyan’s ear, as freezing and damp as the eternal frost of a wandering polar wasteland. Xingyan couldn't help but shudder. Terrified, he bolted up from the ground like a startled rabbit. Throughout the rest of the walk, Xingyan was skittish, never daring to step in front of Fusheng, as if he truly believed the threat. Fusheng, deciding to tap into his meager reserves of kindness and treat the situation as if he were tolerating a mentally challenged child, chose not to terrorize him further. Because of Xingyan’s dawdling, a two-minute walk took them ten.
