Chapter 18

2,305 words12 minutes read

The Tiandang Mountain Range lay quietly across the earth like an ancient and mystical primordial beast, radiating an awe-inspiring aura. That presence felt almost tangible, hovering over the mountains as if recounting the vicissitudes and mysteries of time. Its deep ravines resembled the gaping maw of a giant beast, filled with a fathomless and unpredictable atmosphere. That profound depth seemed to harbor every unknown secret of the universe, like a thick fog that made one shudder in fear, as though merely approaching it would cause one to be swallowed by endless darkness. "Boom!" A sound like the shattering of the heavens and earth struck heavily into the silent ravine, instantly shattering the initial tranquility. A figure was violently hurled out like a tattered clump of cotton or a kite mercilessly torn by a fierce wind, completely devoid of any resistance. Then, like an exhausted meteor burning out, he crashed heavily onto the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust that billowed into the air like the opening curtain of a tragedy.
