Outside the city gate, the stench of blood hung heavy and thick like ink, wrapping tightly around everyone. It pressed down upon their chests like an airtight shroud of death, making it nearly impossible to breathe. The commander of the City Guard galloped over with a large troop. The chaotic sound of hooves was jarringly abrupt in the silence of what felt like a forbidden zone of death, each strike sounding like the approaching footsteps of the Grim Reaper. When he witnessed the devastation left by the blade aura, his heart felt as though it had been violently seized by an invisible hand. A towering tempest surged in his chest, much like a ten-thousand-ton vessel violently tossing in the raging seas of a fierce storm, in imminent danger of being swallowed by giant waves. "Just the externalized blade aura has this kind of power?" His voice trembled violently, like a flickering candle in the wind, erratic and unsteady, every syllable shivering with fear. Beads of sweat as large as peas oozed from his forehead like rain, sliding down his cheeks and striking the dust-covered ground to kick up tiny puffs of dust. He knew in his heart that the strength of the person before him had surpassed the limits of his cognition. It was a fear that penetrated to the marrow of his bones and originated from the depths of his soul—much like tiny humans facing an ancient primordial beast awakened from remote antiquity, under whose boundless pressure every thought of resistance was utterly crush…
