Chapter 12

Seeing this, Ji Qingzhu took a step forward and hovered in mid-air. Her left hand remained held before her, while her right hand gripped the Yinqiu Sword. With a single diagonal sweep, it was as though a wisp of bright moonlight had slipped down from the nine heavens—stunning, yet brimming with murderous intent!
A crescent moon slashed down into the mortal world, and hundreds of evil wood puppets tumbled to the ground one after another, instantly clearing the scene.
With another thrust of her sword, the Sharp Gold Sword simultaneously lunged from a corner, the two blades forming a pincer attack.
Qianlin let out a cold snort as a small dark-gold shield suddenly rose beside him, blocking the assault of the Sharp Gold Sword. He then manipulated a pitch-black spirit sword, attempting to suppress Ji Qingzhu who was attacking from the front.
Clearly, this fellow possessed seasoned combat experience. The moment Ji Qingzhu revealed her two spirit swords, he had begun guarding against them in secret; and upon realizing her cultivation realm was inferior to his own, he resolved to crush her directly.
Unfortunately, he had no idea that Ji Qingzhu was wielding a holy sword.
Even though this holy sword was battered and riddled with cracks, seemingly on the verge of shattering into countless pieces at any second, a holy sword was still a holy sword. For a petty spirit sword to collide with it was no different from an egg striking a stone!
"Crack!"
With a crisp snap, the pitch-black spirit sword instantly broke into two halves.
Qianlin was momentarily dazed, caught off guard on the one hand, and shocked on the other by the sudden erasure of the blood-spirit imprint branded upon his spirit sword.
When a spirit artifact is destroyed, its master naturally suffers backlash.
Seizing this prime opportunity, Ji Qingzhu did not hold back. Her figure flashed, and the silver sword in her hand thrust out fiercely, intent on ending this man's life.
"Wood Soul Endures, Flower-Grafting Grand Magic!"
As expected of a demonic heretic from the Chaotic Star Alliance, Qianlin saw that the situation was turning sour and directly detonated his right arm. His vital blood turned into mist, and employing some unknown blood-sacrifice technique, he instantly swapped positions with an evil wood puppet.
Ji Qingzhu's sword thrust forward, only to churn the evil wood puppet into pieces.
"Damn you! You destroyed my spirit sword and forced me to sever my own arm—I'll make sure you die a horrific death! Blood-Scaled Arm, come forth!"
Qianlin shrieked wildly. The sleeve of his left arm burst apart, revealing a gruesome, heavily-muscled, blood-red arm beneath it. It was covered in dense, fine scales, looking nothing like a human hand and far more like the grafted limb of a ferocious beast, horrifying and grotesque!
The momentum around him surged once more. With a fierce wave of his hand, he lunged forward amidst swirling shadows of blood, his claw-wind proving even sharper than a flying sword.
Ji Qingzhu's heart tightened. Her left hand quietly formed a dharma seal, and a thick mist suddenly billowed outward while her entire figure vanished from sight.
Spirit Mist Barrier, Water-Fusion Technique.
The mist was a transformation of water, while the Water-Fusion Technique was her secret to moving through water like a fish in its element. She could conceal herself within water, and though the effect was slightly diminished within mist, it was more than enough to disrupt an enemy.
Her movements were lithe and ethereal, her sword strikes falling like rain. In the span of a breath, she thrust out eighty-one times. The vast majority of these slashes shattered the blood-shadow claw-winds, while a portion landed on Qianlin, hacking his dharma robes into tattered beggar rags.
For an ordinary Divine Ability realm cultivator, possessing a single spirit artifact was completely normal; having a matching set of one offense and one defense could be considered quite good. As for possessing more spirit artifacts, unless one had other extraordinary encounters, it was exceedingly difficult for an individual to refine them. Refining spirit artifacts consumed an immense amount of mental energy and effort—if one spent all their time forging spirit artifacts, when would they even have time to cultivate?
Thus, Qianlin possessed only two spirit artifacts: a sword and a shield.
"Spirit puppets, explode for me!" Consumed by burning fury, Qianlin clenched his large hand, and the surrounding evil wood puppets that had not yet been put to use detonated one after another. The resulting shockwave quickly blew away the troublesome mist.
"At your wit's end? It seems you only have this much ability after all."
Ji Qingzhu let out a soft sigh. Earlier, she had merely been testing her strength after breaking through to the Divine Ability Realm; now that her objective was achieved, there was no need to keep him alive any longer.
With a wave of her sleeve, she swept away the turbulent wind, leaving the figure completely vanished from the scene.
"Hehehe, you're still far too early if you want to kill me! Just wait and see, Yun City will surely be destroyed, and you shall also become our prisoner!" Relying on the momentum of the explosions, Qianlin turned and fled. He was no fool; continuing to fight this woman would yield him no benefits. He would return and report, and naturally, stronger experts would be sent to deal with her.
"Want to leave? Do you think you can escape?!"
Ji Qingzhu's eyes locked onto the fleeing figure. She watched as moonlight like spun silk poured down into the mortal world, blanketing the earth, while within a three-li radius around her, the moonlight was exceptionally soft and bright.
The vast sea gives birth to tides, and moonlight illuminates the night sky.
In an instant, the surroundings transformed into a vast expanse of ocean. Above the deep sea, a bright moon slowly rose—flawless and immaculate, truest and purest, captivating the soul!
Divine Ability Phenomenon: Sea Rises the Bright Moon!!
Qianlin's divine soul stagnated, and his body involuntarily froze in place.
Taiyin moonlight was most damaging to the divine soul; a mere touch of the moonlight could cause a person's soul to scatter into nothingness, not to mention that the tidal waves beneath the moon could likewise sink one's spirit and willpower. With the two combined, how could a mere practitioner in the Third Realm of Divine Abilities possibly resist?
The cultivation level Ji Qingzhu currently displayed was still far from complete; she could conjure the vast sea using divine ability power, but the bright moon was merely a phenomenon that could only produce effects within the spiritual realm. Once she cultivated another Taiyin moonlight divine ability and fused it into the divine ability phenomenon, its power would increase exponentially, making her a supreme overlord among peers of the same realm!
Even as a semi-finished version, this was enough to let her fight across realms, allowing someone who had just stepped into the Divine Ability Realm to suppress a demonic heretic of the Third Realm.
"Next time, don't make those 'hehehe' noises. Don't you know that villains always die horribly?" Ji Qingzhu decapitated him with a single stroke of her sword. Beneath the moonlight, the Yinqiu Sword appeared filled with a fractured sense of beauty.
"Divine ability... phenomenon? That's impossible! Exactly... what kind of person are you?" The sword had been too fast, leaving Qianlin hanging onto a final breath as he asked in bitter unwillingness.
"Didn't you already recognize me? Ji Qingzhu of the Yun City Ji Clan."
Ji Qingzhu fulfilled his dying wish by stating her background.
Yet Qianlin still died with eternal regret; he refused to believe that this woman was merely some wild divine ability practitioner hailing from the boondocks.
A divine ability phenomenon! That was a divine ability phenomenon! To manifest a divine ability phenomenon while still in the Divine Ability Realm was exceedingly rare in this world. Each and every one of them could be called a heaven-gifted talent, with every hope of becoming a Dharma Manifestation True Monarch in the future!!
Even placed among the four great Holy Lands, such a person could become a Holy Master capable of existing in the world for three thousand years, mastering boundless divine abilities, hailed as a terrestrial immortal looking down upon the vicissitudes of the mortal realm...
After slaying her enemy, Ji Qingzhu did not relax. She knew full well that now was not the time to be carried away by triumph; the true crisis was the impending disaster in Yun City.
Having killed a member of the Chaotic Star Alliance here, she had no idea whether it would cause the predetermined disaster to shift or change.
"When soldiers come, block them with general; when water comes, earth-dike it. In this lifetime, I will not let the disaster repeat itself!"
Ji Qingzhu tossed the two corpses into the Rivers and Mountains Map, then whipped up a torrential flood to thoroughly cleanse the battlefield, doing her best to obscure the identities of those behind the Chaotic Star Alliance.
"Battle's over, time to go home!"
Clapping her hands, Ji Qingzhu walked across the waves. This time, she no longer needed to rely on the power of a Dharma artifact; she was truly using divine ability and Dharma power to command the water, her speed rivaling that of flight.
Yet when she arrived at the upper reaches of the Dropping Dragon Waterfall, she suddenly discovered a small boat gently rocking on the water's surface, a petite figure slumped at the bow with a little face full of worry.
"Such a little fool..."
Ji Qingzhu let out a leisurely sigh, her tone carrying a hint of reprimand, though the slightly upturned corners of her lips betrayed her true thoughts.
Wishing all book friends health and longevity! Today is simply the day of signing my dream contract, crows~
