In the Mahavira Hall at Lingshan in the Western Paradise, Guanyin and the others returned with heavy expressions, carrying Samantabhadra's physical body.
Up above, Rulai wore a look of neither sorrow nor joy. He cast a faint glance at the group, then looked down at Samantabhadra's remains and said, "There is no saving him. Make arrangements for his reincarnation."
Upon hearing this, Guanyin and Manjushri wore expressions of profound grief. They had originally come from the Chan Teaching, and as fellow Four Bodhisattvas, their bond went without saying.
