Chapter 2

In the 18th century, on a lush green farm in England, Yang Yun and Jonathan were lying in the cool shade of a tree, talking animatedly about the future.
Danny the dog lay between the two of them, panting with a cute and silly look on his face while continuously wagging his tail.
As they chatted away, the two discussed many things, and naturally that included the future.
Whenever Yang Yun occasionally let slip details about the future, Jonathan simply took it as science fiction.
Yang Yun did not mind this at all; after all, not believing it was the right reaction. If he actually believed it, *that* would be a miraculous freak occurrence.
"Right, Brother Yun! You said that my descendants in the future will definitely be gentlemen too, right?"
As soon as Jonathan said this, Yang Yun, who had still been smiling a moment before, froze for a second, then burst out laughing.
"What are you laughing at? Was what I said that funny?" Jonathan asked, looking puzzled.
"It's nothing. But you're right, they're all gentlemen!"
Yang Yun smiled and patted Jonathan on the shoulder, while an internet meme involuntarily flashed through his mind:
*What are we? JOJO!* *What can we do? Cheat at gambling, smoke and fight, scam money, do the Torture Dance, and beat up priests.*
To this, Jonathan essentially wept (QAQ).
*What on earth is all this nonsense?* *Caesar! Ora! Dora! Muda! Ora!*
Seeing that Yang Yun's expression seemed a bit strange, Jonathan readied himself to keep asking questions.
Right at that moment, however, a girl's cries instantly pierced their ears.
Yang Yun and Jonathan immediately turned toward the source of the sound.
Not far away, atop a small arched mound of earth, two boys around thirteen or fourteen years old were clutching a doll and ruthlessly tearing it apart.
Standing before the two of them was a poor girl with golden curly hair. The cries they had heard just now had come from her.
"Erina, this doll was bought for you by your quack of a dad, wasn't it?"
"And it really is pretty—I just wonder if it looks the same on the inside!"
At these words, the two boys instantly burst into a pair of wildly leering laughs.
Erina was completely helpless against this and could only burst into loud sobs.
"She's crying, she's crying! Erina's just a crybaby!"
Seeing a young girl being bullied, Yang Yun and Jonathan, acting as gentlemen, found themselves losing their restraint.
The two exchanged a glance and strode forward at a run.
"Let go of that girl!"
"Stop right there! Give her back her doll!"
In an instant, accompanied by shouts from Yang Yun and Jonathan, the two boys who had been assaulting the doll stopped in their tracks.
But when they saw that the newcomers were merely boys their own age, their attitudes quickly turned disdainful again.
"Who the hell are you guys? You don't even know Erina!"
"We might not know her, but we have a reason to fight!"
Yang Yun and Jonathan spoke almost in unison as they charged separately into the two youths.
Yang Yun delivered a sharp elbow strike and shoulder check, instantly knocking one of the boys off balance as he stumbled backward and wailed in pain.
Seeing this, the other boy's companion stared in utter astonishment.
He couldn't fathom how someone who didn't look particularly built could send a person flying with a single hit like that.
Taking advantage of that momentary daze, Jonathan closed in, throwing a rapid-fire flurry of punches straight ahead to batter the boy's chest.
Yet compared to Yang Yun's effective move, Jonathan's strength was clearly a bit lacking and failed to deal any heavy damage to his opponent.
Realizing that Jonathan wasn't causing him much trouble, the boy brought his fists together in a tight grip, raised them high like heavy mallets, and prepared to smash downward.
"You good-for-nothing punk, what are you trying to show off in front of a girl for?!"
"JOJO, watch out!"
Seeing the opponent's attack about to come down, Yang Yun let out a sharp cry and surged forward with explosive footwork.
At that split second, a tall figure materialized vaguely behind Yang Yun's back, radiating a brilliance akin to a glittering galaxy.
Under the sunlight, it looked all the more like a nine-colored divine wheel, exuding immense strength and a sacred aura.
Yet those present seemed entirely unable to see it, and that star-like figure vanished in a flash.
As Yang Yun's form rushed in like a cannonball, the boy's descending double-fisted hammer blow was suddenly caught in one of Yang Yun's hands.
At the same time, Yang Yun clenched his right fist, his protruding knuckles tearing through the air and displaying overwhelming power right before everyone's eyes.
Before the boy could even react, his facial features caved inward quite a bit under that single punch.
A torrent of nosebleeds poured out as he let out a miserable scream!
"Thanks, Brother Yun, but I could have handled him!"
Hearing Jonathan's words, Yang Yun did not dispute it.
After all, he really *could* have handled him—just not until his future self.
Future Jonathan possessed a terrifying height of one meter ninety-five, coupled with thighs as thick as tree trunks.
He was quite simply the person best suited to practice Ripple Power!
Old Joseph was the most talented, but not the best suited.
Consequently, a single kick from him could directly snap an opponent's crotch right in two!
"Damn it! Who do you think you are, daring to hit us?!"
The two boys, having recovered somewhat, clutched their injuries while shouting angrily.
"We hit you, so what? Do you need to ask if we felt like it?" Yang Yun glared at them with disdain.
"What? You want payback? Do you even have what it takes?!"
As he spoke, Yang Yun casually pulled a handkerchief out of Jonathan's pocket.
Upon seeing the Joestar family crest embroidered on the handkerchief, the two boys' previously vicious expressions instantly flickered with panic.
If it were just ordinary commoners, they might dare to pick a fight, but nobility was entirely beyond their reach.
"You... you... So what if it's the Joestar family? I..."
"My mom's calling me home for dinner!"
Faced with the current situation, the two attempted to say a few more tough words, but immediately found themselves cowed by Yang Yun raising his fist once more. They turned and fled for their lives.
"Brother Yun, doesn't that kind of behavior seem a bit ungentlemanly?" Jonathan asked suddenly from the side.
"Isn't that exactly how you're supposed to deal with evildoers?"
"Not only must we preserve the kindness in our hearts, but we must also never let our guard down with the sword we bear against the wicked!"
"A person must balance tension and release; blindly tightening your fist or blindly extending your hand are both useless!"
Listening to Yang Yun's words, Jonathan was somewhat bewildered at first.
As he pondered them, however, the gentleness in his eyes began to firm up, gradually revealing a resolute spirit!
"Um..."
Seeing the two seem ready to leave, Erina, who had been rescued, wanted to express her gratitude.
Yet the words Jonathan spoke next sent a distinct jolt through her heart:
"There's no need to thank me. I didn't help you to be thanked!"
"What I want is to become a true gentleman. When I see a girl in trouble, stepping forward is only natural."
"Even though the other guy was bigger than me and stronger than me, as a gentleman, I had to muster the courage to fight!"
"I didn't handle it well this time, but next time I will definitely beat them!"
With that, Jonathan turned and prepared to leave. Yang Yun said nothing further and simply followed behind.
Erina was Jonathan's destined match, and Yang Yun had no interest in getting involved.
After leaving, the two returned to the manor, and night soon fell.

"JOJO, mind your manners!"
"Take a good look at Yang Yun—every word, every action, and every posture of his moves closer to that of a gentleman!"
At the dining table of the Joestar ancestral home, George Joestar spoke with a hint of reprimand and helplessness as he watched Jonathan wolfing down a steak and preparing to down his red wine in a single gulp.
"I'm sorry, Father!"
Hearing his father's words, Jonathan shrank his neck back slightly, a flash of shame crossing his face.
Seeing this, Yang Yun set down his knife and fork, then wiped his mouth with a napkin.
"Father, there's no need to scold him like this. JOJO didn't mean it."
"It's just that some things I said today had a negative influence on him."
As he spoke, Yang Yun proceeded to recount the events of the daytime to George.
Upon hearing the entire story, George fell silent for a moment, leading Jonathan to think he was about to be punished.
Instead, a smile broke across George's face as he looked at the boys with joy and gratification.
"Jonathan, you did well. And what you said, Yang Yun, was very good too!"
"Both of you are my proudest sons!"
Looking at the harmonious, warm scene of paternal kindness and filial piety before him, Yang Yun felt a wave of emotion, and his resolve grew even firmer.
After all, scenes like this would probably never be seen again once the future arrived—for before long, Dio would be coming.
Yet he would protect everything just the same!
