Hiding in the muddy banks of the Mississippi River, Johnny and Gyro could only take cover in the silt as they were pursued relentlessly. Before long, dozens of pterosaurs and small dinosaurs had gathered on top of the thick mud blanketing their bodies. At first, the two of them felt rather fortunate that the mud separated them from the dinosaurs, preventing their cutting abilities from reaching them. However, not even a few seconds of relief had passed when Johnny suddenly felt a searing, agonizing pain in his tongue. Johnny wanted to ask Gyro to take a look, but the very next moment, flames erupted out of nowhere from the exact spot of the pain. Seeing this, Gyro tried to check on him, but immediately his own fingers began to burn as well.
