"Now, let's guess." Mokusanro's smiling face was instantly right in front of him. He raised his fist and swung it at Suguru Geto.
In Suguru Geto's eyes, Mokusanro's fist was getting closer and closer to his chest.
*True or false?*
Suguru Geto fell into a vortex of thoughts.
"Ugh!" The fist came down, and Suguru Geto let out a muffled grunt.
After taking the punch, Suguru Geto instinctively reached out to counterattack, only to find that Mokusanro's true body was no longer there.
That's right, how could a path just stay in place and wait for him to punch it?
"Oops," Mokusanro's voice sounded behind him.
"You can't tell the real from the fake? Shouldn't you dodge first when you see me throw a punch? We can talk about later later, right now you're about to get beaten up."
Suguru Geto suppressed the urge to strike back and took a deep breath.
Lu was right; he had been too hasty and fallen into a mental trap.
If he couldn't attack, he would defend first. Just defense—he still had cursed spirits nearby. With cursed spirits around, if he only defended, he might even be able to spare a bit of attention to observe.
Bang—
Suguru Geto's arm collided with Mokusanro's incoming fist, and he stood firmly in place.
Lu said he could use his synesthesia with the cursed spirits he had tamed to tell the real one from the fake. If he wanted to make better use of that synesthesia...
At least one cursed spirit had to stay by his side.
Whenever Lu attacked or misled him, he always had to get close first. As long as there was a cursed spirit nearby, sooner or later he would learn to distinguish them, and he might even be able to strike Lu before Lu reached him to attack.
............
"Suguru has calmed down." Shoko Ieiri, who had just finished treating her classmate who almost fried his brain, crossed her arms and leaned against the trunk of a large tree.
Moku had deliberately provoked Suguru like that at first. Under his provocation, Suguru grew more and more anxious. Moku knew Suguru was smart, so during that time he deliberately left a few openings for Suguru to hit him, thereby disrupting Suguru's thoughts.
If Moku hadn't done that, the clever Suguru would have quickly realized that Lu was trying to anger him. Once Suguru realized that, at least he wouldn't have forgotten even how to defend when Lu struck.
Now that Suguru had calmed down, she believed that in a little while, he would be able to tell the real from the fake, right?
Or, to be bolder, Suguru could directly find Moku's real hiding spot and launch a counterattack.
............
"If you're afraid your eyes will interfere with your senses, just close them, Suguru."
Mokusanro stopped beside one of Suguru Geto's cursed spirits and offered a hint.
"Besides, your sense of crisis is enough for you to dodge my attacks."
Suguru Geto nodded. He closed his eyes and began to establish synesthesia with the cursed spirit he had released.
*Not here.*
Suguru Geto leaned back, dodging Mokusanro's attack.
*Fake.*
Suguru Geto instantly resumed a standing posture while raising both arms in defense.
*Not here.*
Suguru Geto eliminated them one by one.
Wait...
That cursed spirit...
Mokusanro wasn't standing still; he was strolling toward Suguru Geto's side as if he were wandering through his own backyard.
He looked extremely leisurely, humming a tune as he walked.
Reaching Suguru Geto, he reached out his hand, just about to greet him, when the next second, his wrist was grabbed by Suguru Geto.
Suguru Geto opened his eyes, stared at the increasingly clear Mokusanro in front of him, and smiled. "I caught you, Lu."
Mokusanro smiled too, nodding with a gentle tone. "Indeed. Suguru is amazing, not only finding me, but catching me too."
Suguru Geto let go of his hand, rotated his wrist, and a somewhat dissatisfied expression appeared on his face. "Your hints were way too obvious, Lu. There's no fun in that at all."
This guy practically grabbed his cursed spirit and told it, "I'm right here!"
"Yes, yes." Mokusanro raised both hands in surrender, a trace of helpless laughter on his face. Soon, as if remembering something, Mokusanro's eyes rolled, and delight replaced his helplessness.
"Suguru caught me entirely on his own; I didn't give any hints."
You have to understand that once a technique is generated, unless the sorcerer is willing to dismiss it themselves, no one can catch his physical body unless they find the weakness.
"Hey! You two are done fighting, it's my turn!" Satoru Gojo had been waiting impatiently for a long time and was now striding toward them.
Masamichi Yaga also walked over.
"Satoru, they've been fighting for a long time, and they've consumed a lot of cursed energy and stamina. If you want a spar, wait until tomorrow," Masamichi Yaga pushed up the sunglasses on the bridge of his nose and reminded him.
"Got it." Satoru Gojo pouted. Although he really wanted to spar with the exchange student from China right now, he wasn't the kind of person to take advantage of others when they were weak.
If he fought, he had to go all out. Otherwise, what if the exchange student from China lost and claimed he was just bullying people?
"My name is Satoru Gojo," Satoru Gojo curled his four fingers back and pointed at himself with his thumb.
"My name is Mokusanro. Just call me 'Lu'," Mokusanro said.
"Suguru Geto," Suguru Geto walked up to Mokusanro's side and said.
