The GUTS members sat around the circular table in the GUTS Command Center, discussing today's battle. Although two fighter jets had been lost, the research results had won the support and approval of Director Sawai.
At that moment, Daigo suddenly suggested, "I have a proposal. Even monsters have names, like Golza and Melba. But as for the giant, we've just been calling him 'the giant'. Isn't that a bit too pitiful for him?"
"True. He's as big as a mountain. How about we call him Mighty Mountain Colossus?" Vice Chairman Munakata said after a moment of thought.
"Mighty Mountain Colossus sounds silly," Hori immediately rejected the name.
"I was thinking... how does Ultraman Tiga sound to everyone?" Daigo said carefully, terrified that the others might suspect him.
Right at that moment, Daigo's gaze met Xiao Luuo's. Xiao Luuo had one leg crossed over the other, propping his chin with one hand, staring right at him.
"Not bad! That name is not bad," Hori said, instantly perking up upon hearing the name.
"Ultraman is his title, with Tiga added to it!" Muzui said from his computer terminal, his fingers still clicking away on the keyboard in an orderly rhythm.
"Since Ultraman has a name, why don't we give names to those two newly appeared monsters as well?" Xiao Luuo suggested, pulling up images of Zetton and Gomora on the main big screen.
"That's right. Come to think of it, we were even saved today by that monster called Zetton," Rena said, her thoughts drifting back to the moment of pursuit earlier.
"How about we call him Mighty Mountain Colossus? Huh?" Munakata immediately chimed in.
"I already said that name sounds silly," Hori snapped back instantly.
"I remember that mysterious person called the monster with glowing lights Zetton," Rena recalled aloud.
"Then let's call him Zetton. What about the other one?" Xiao Luuo said, zooming in on the picture of Gomora.
"This monster looks silly. How about we call it Mighty Mountain Colossus?"
"Just how much do you love the name Mighty Mountain Colossus?!" Hori retorted once again.
"How about we call it Gomora?" Xiao Luuo said, pointing both hands at his chin as he looked at everyone.
"Hey? Not bad! That is actually really good!" Shinjo finally spoke up.
"Not bad at all!"
One month later. Inside the GUTS high-level conference room.
"Captain Megumi Iruma, at the staff meeting, some people raised concerns. They are wondering whether that giant—the one you call Ultraman—might become an obstacle to the Earth Defense Force," Director Sawai said calmly, looking at Megumi Iruma.
"Do you think it was appropriate to make such a reckless statement on television?"
"Reckless? I don't consider it reckless. That was simply my conclusion after observing Ultraman's actions, and I have considerable confidence in it." Megumi Iruma refused to back down.
"Confidence? Sounds more like a woman's intuition to me!"
"Chief of Public Security, Captain Megumi Iruma is the person in charge of conducting negotiations with extraterrestrial life forms. Therefore, I believe the Captain's opinion should be respected."
"Can we trust the defense line of Earth to something as flimsy as intuition? I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I've always been firmly opposed to the disbandment of the Earth Defense Force. Who knows? One day, some foreign nation might launch an invasion!"
"That is a completely different issue altogether!"
"Stop arguing, both of you! Right now, the most important thing is the Cyriloid who sent the invasion message." Director Sawai interrupted their exchange.
Shinjo and Hori piloted Guts Wing 1 around the exploding building to observe the situation.
"My god, that firepower is insane!" Hori exclaimed in awe.
"Good thing this building is still under construction, or if they had thrown the bomb in—"
"It wasn't a bomb! There isn't a single trace of a bomb blast!" Hori interrupted immediately.
Back at the base, Munakata asked Muzui, who was standing beside him, "It wasn't caused by a bomb?"
"It's possible some kind of force was applied from a distance. Let's focus our satellite channel monitoring on it. I'll apply to the Development Bureau right away," Muzui analyzed.
"With traces like these, it definitely came from underground. Don't forget, our opponent is not human," Xiao Luuo said, staring at the big screen.
Meanwhile, Munakata walked over to Megumi Iruma and said, "Captain, you should take a break. It looks like this is going to take some time."
"I know," Megumi Iruma replied flatly, then turned and walked straight out of the command center.
Knowing how the plot played out, Xiao Luuo followed her out barely ten seconds later.
Megumi Iruma caught a glimpse of a blue figure flashing past a corner and quickly gave chase. But when she reached the turn, there was no one in sight. Figuring her exhaustion was playing tricks on her, she returned to her private quarters.
She walked over to her desk, gently stroked a photograph, and looked at the little boy in the picture with tender affection.
Just then, a strange sound came from behind her. Megumi Iruma spun around instantly to find a man sitting right in her chair.
"Who are you?" she demanded quietly as she covertly activated her communicator, which projected the live feed of her room onto the big screen back in the command center.
Upon seeing this, Daigo and Rena exchanged glances and bolted out the door!
"I am... I am a prophet, tasked with delivering a message," the man said slowly, staring up at the ceiling.
"Where on earth do the Cyriloids come from? Introducing yourself first is the most basic courtesy, isn't it?"
"Hahaha, what a great sense of humor. True to form for a GUTS captain. First of all, you must show respect to the Cyriloids. If you fail to show respect to the Cyriloids right now, the K1 district will be next." With that, he stood up, walked right up to Megumi Iruma, and picked up the photograph from the desk.
"Why me?"
"Because you acknowledge that being's existence."
"Whose existence?"
Before Megumi Iruma could finish speaking, her bedroom door burst open. A figure rushed in at lightning speed, and with a heavy thud, the Cyriloid was slammed directly into the wall with a dull crash, sending the photograph tumbling to the floor.
"Who's there?" the Cyriloid roared angrily.
Megumi Iruma gasped as she recognized the figure who had just charged in—it was none other than Xiao Luuo!
"I'm your grandpa!" Xiao Luuo shouted, lunging forward and delivering a ferocious kick straight to the Cyriloid's head.
The Cyriloid reacted swiftly, performing a flip to dodge the blow, causing Xiao Luuo's kick to connect solidly against the wall with a loud thud. Refusing to let up, Xiao Luuo spun around and unleashed a swift sweeping low kick!
Seeing the attack coming, the Cyriloid simply vanished into thin air.
A voice echoed through the empty room: "The sacred flames shall burn all impurities to ashes."
Megumi Iruma pulled the door open to find Daigo and Rena standing outside.
"Where is he?" Megumi Iruma asked, looking around anxiously.
"Who? What person? No one came out of your room!" Rena said in confusion.
At that moment, Xiao Luuo walked out of Megumi Iruma's room. He had pulled his punches earlier to avoid causing a commotion; otherwise, that kick would have caved the wall in entirely.
Seemingly struck by a sudden realization, Megumi Iruma sprinted toward the monitoring room, shouting as she ran, "The K1 district!"
