Chapter 23

Ye Feng stepped across the ruins strewn all over the ground, the sound of the blue bricks cracking beneath his feet sounding exceptionally clear in the silence. Looking down, he saw a broken sword planted aslant between the crevices of the bricks. The cloud patterns engraved on the blade had been blurred beyond recognition by the passage of time, yet the cyan-colored sword tassel tied around the hilt remained vibrant—it was the knot of concentric hearts he had personally tied for Ye Youning back then. Fragments of a storage bag were scattered across the ground. Ye Feng bent down to pick up a piece, his fingertips brushing against the familiar rune patterns. The technique used to draw these runes was identical to the ones used by the Tianjian Sect in the past. What alarmed him even more was a token with half its body exposed from the rubble. The character "Xuan" on the token was clearly visible—that was the standard marker belonging to every core disciple of the Tianjian Sect.
