"Huh, is nobody here today?" The morning mist had not yet cleared. An elderly woman carrying a bamboo basket stood before the entrance of Windwhisper Bakery, her fingers unconsciously brushing against the age-old scratches on the doorframe. Those were scars left by a galvanized iron sign whipped up by a gale during a stormy night decades ago. She remembered that the silver-haired girl would always wait by the shelves, and only when one knocked gently would she timidly push the door open a crack.
