Approaching the Altar and the Dark Deterrence
Lin Yu and his companions sped all the way toward the Dark Altar. As the distance closed, everything around them seemed to be wantonly twisted by a giant hand of darkness. The colors between heaven and earth were gradually drained away, leaving behind only endless shades of gray and deep, pitch black. Gale winds roared like enraged beasts, carrying with them a dense, almost tangible dark aura that cut across everyone's faces like sharp blades, causing a stinging pain.
Finally, they reached the edge of a towering cliff. Looking into the distance, the Dark Altar in the valley below resembled a dormant prehistoric behemoth, exuding a chilling and evil aura. Built entirely from jet-black boulders, every single stone seemed to bear millennia of bitterness and curses. Surrounding the hundred-foot-high altar stood a circle of giant pillars reaching toward the sky. The shafts of the pillars were carved with twisted Runes that flickered with an eerie, sickly green light, as if whispering untold dark secrets.
