Xiao Sese’s voice grew lower and lower. For the first time, she felt her reservoir of snark had nowhere to go, and she scratched her head in frustration. The negative energy of "if you can't grasp metaphysics, just drop out" was stuck firmly in her throat. Xiaopang had just been reciting the poem *Exhortation to Learning*; she couldn't exactly encourage him to drop out now, could she?!
