The rolled pastry was shaped into a cylinder. The translucent dough revealed a generous, colorful filling. Shreds of green cucumber, orange carrots, and brown duck leg meat were faintly visible through the wrapper, enough to make anyone’s mouth water.
Susan reached out, took it, and couldn’t wait to take a bite. The overstuffed roll was larger than her mouth, and as she took a bite, a fair amount of the filling squeezed out from the seams.
