At that moment, he longed more than anything to go home—back to Qingzhou Village by the Changchun River, to live a solid, down-to-earth life with his Aunt and uncle, and never harbor any wild ambitions again... Yet, after walking for a short while, Fang Yi found himself adrift once more, unsure of where he ought to go. Originally, he had wanted to return straight to the village, but he feared that the small mountain village could not bear the crushing sorrow that weighed on him now, heavy as a collapsed mountain. With no other choice, he simply followed the flow of the rainwater down the street. Perhaps, at the end of the water, he might find a direction of his own.
