The sky looked as though a gigantic fissure had been torn open, and the torrential rain poured down upon the mortal world like a reservoir gate bursting wide open. The water level within the upper reaches of the Yangtze River gates rose so rapidly that it nearly submerged the verdant islet in the middle of the river.
